but I'd heard that seeing the exterior of Casa Milà was more than enough.
So, this option was the most budget-friendly fit for my plans!

Inside Casa Batlló
We started our adventure by meeting right in front of Casa Batlló!
The sky that morning was painted in stunning shades of pink—
a perfect backdrop that beautifully complemented Gaudí's masterpiece.
At first glance, Casa Batlló might make you think, "Wait, is that made of bones?"
And you'd be absolutely right—Gaudí actually designed it to mimic skulls and skeletal structures!
While it's famously known as the "House of Bones" today,
it actually faced a lot of ridicule and mockery back when it was first built.
One of the absolute best perks of booking the Memento Tour was the
exclusive, private entry before Casa Batlló officially opened!
It was incredible being able to wander around and take as many photos as I wanted without the crowds.
Looking out over the streets of Barcelona through these massive, sweeping windows,
I couldn't help but think about how incredibly elite
the original owners must have felt living here!
You can even get up close and touch the trencadís—
Gaudí's signature mosaic style made from colorful broken tiles.
You also get to see Mr. Batlló's private rooms
and some of Gaudí's actual original blueprints.
Inspired by the ocean, almost everything inside Casa Batlló—
from the spiral staircases and pillars to the ceilings and walls—is completely curved.
It really shows you just how deeply Gaudí loved organic curves.
Casa Milà
For Casa Milà, we didn't go inside.
Instead, we admired its stunning exterior while listening to the guide's explanation on a tablet.
With its undulating stone facade that mimics ocean waves,
Casa Milà feels like it belongs to a completely different dimension,
standing out beautifully amidst the rigid, boxy city buildings around it.
Park Güell
Park Güell was originally envisioned as a luxury residential estate for the wealthy.
However, because it was located so far from the city center back then,
it was a massive commercial flop—not a single house sold, except for the ones occupied
by Gaudí himself, his patron Eusebi Güell, and one other buyer.
Seeing it in person, it actually feels less like a public park
and more like a whimsical, fairytale village.
While its artistic value is unmatched, I couldn't help but think—
both back then and today—that actually living here would be a bit of a challenge... haha.
The pastel pink house is where Gaudí actually lived for about 20 years.
You need to buy a separate ticket to go inside,
but since I heard there isn't much to see, I decided to skip it.
Sagrada Família
The grand finale of the Gaudí tour: the iconic Sagrada Família.
Although the final cross is set to be installed this year in 2026,
the actual completion of the entire basilica is still more than four years away...
Since at least 80% of the basilica's mind-blowing detail is on the exterior,
I wouldn't say an indoor guided tour is absolutely necessary.
Instead, I recommend listening to the exterior guide first, grabbing a bite to eat
at a nearby restaurant, and then heading inside for a self-guided look!
Honestly, I've never really been blown away by cathedrals before,
but the second I stepped inside the Sagrada Família,
a literal "wow" just escaped my lips.
The way the sunlight streams through the stained glass and hits the pillars...
the colors shift constantly depending on the time of day,
making the same space feel completely different from one moment to the next.
I heard that 2:00 PM is the absolute busiest time of the day,
so I booked my entry for 3:00 PM instead.
You can easily book your tickets on the official website. Even though I arrived about
30 minutes to an hour earlier than my scheduled slot, they still let me in right away.
They didn't seem to mind the timing too much!
If you're planning a trip to Barcelona, I highly recommend
taking a Gaudi tour at least once.
Usually, I really don't enjoy listening to long explanations
and always associated guided tours with being boring.
But the Gaudi tour was not boring at all! In fact,
I loved it so much that I'd want to do it all over again on my next trip!
