The **bus** might have a similar price point to the train,

but with more than double the travel time, it's not something I'd recommend.

when you factor in waiting times at the airport, it's not significantly faster than the train.

A key reason I champion the **train** is that upon arriving in Seville,

the train station is far more centrally located than the airport.

For trains traveling from Barcelona to Seville,

options include Renfe, Iryo, Ouigo, and more,

Otherwise, you might accidentally choose a train that takes 10 hours for a one-way trip with transfers,

just by looking at the price.

For your information, Renfe is state-owned, while Iryo is privately owned,

and Iryo operates relatively newer trains.

Estandar is second class, and Confort is first class.

I've only ridden second class, but it was comparable to Korea's KTX,

Real Train Travel Review

Using Renfe

Now, let's dive into a real review of the Barcelona to Seville train!

We used Renfe for both legs of our journey.

After checking out of our hotel, we hopped on a bus and then the subway,

arriving at Barcelona Sants station!

Barcelona's train station is quite spacious, and you'll also need to go through baggage security,

so I recommend arriving at the station at least 40 minutes early.

Inside the station, you'll find places like McDonald's where you can grab a bite,

so you can relax for a bit and recharge your energy.

Taking the huge escalators,

you can easily descend to the train platforms.

As it's a major city, the train station facilities are excellent.

We boarded smoothly, with no delays or platform changes.

However, European trains can be quite unpredictable,

so always remember to check the electronic display boards frequently before boarding.

Since the journey is long, we made sure to pack plenty of snacks.

It can get quite dry onboard, so I recommend bringing a large bottle of water.

Honestly, a 6-hour one-way journey isn't exactly a breeze,

but as you travel through Europe's characteristic vast plains,

you'll arrive in Seville in no time :)

At the time, from Seville train station to the city center,

it only took 10 minutes by taxi.

That just goes to show how convenient train travel is for getting between Barcelona and Seville!
