Barcelona Gaudi Half-Day Car Tour (Guide Haminchul) My Honest Review & Booking Experience
We booked the 'Haminchul Gaudi Tour',
and the first starting point and meeting spot for the tour was a park near Sagrada Familia.
The meeting time was 7:30 AM, so we got ready and left early in the morning to make sure we weren't late.

Our accommodation was near Plaça de Catalunya,
the Room Mate Pau hotel.
Barcelona Accommodation Recommendation: Room Mate Pau near Plaça de Catalunya (Aerobus Safety)
From here, we took the subway,
and it was great because it wasn't as complicated as I thought and we could get there directly without any transfers.
I definitely pat myself on the back for booking an accommodation with such a killer location!
I'll also share how to buy the T-mobilitat transport card, an essential item for using Barcelona's public transit system,
along with my review of using the Barcelona subway.
Let the happy memories begin! ✨
Spain Barcelona Transport Card: T-mobilitat
The first thing we did early in the morning to get to our Gaudi tour meeting point was to sort out our public transport.
To ride the subway in Barcelona, you need to get a rechargeable T-mobilitat transport card.
It was convenient, working just like our transport cards back home – you tap it on the machine to enter.
It wasn't a plastic card, but a stiff paper material, and it still worked when tapped, which I found quite fascinating!

How to Buy and Top Up Your Barcelona Metro T-mobilitat Ticket
Once you enter the subway station, you'll find red transport card vending machines.
The instructions were well-explained in English, so it wasn't difficult at all.

👇🏻
1. On the vending machine's first screen, tap the [UK flag icon] at the bottom to
change the language to English & select the Ticket type.
Since we only planned to use the subway for a one-way trip to Sagrada Familia for now,
we decided to buy a Single ticket.
You can use it for both the Metro and TMB buses.

2. Select the T-mobilitat menu.
✔️ If you don't have a card yet: Click 'No' on the right.
✔️ If you already have a card: Click 'Yes' on the left to top it up.

3. Select the appropriate Zone from the T-casual options.
Since we only planned to sightsee within Barcelona city,
we chose T-casual 1 zone (13 Euros).
✔️
If you look at the route map, the city is divided into zones from Zone 1 (city center) to Zone 6 (outskirts).
For typical tourist itineraries, choosing Zone 1 is all you need!
Key attractions like Plaça de Catalunya, Sagrada Familia, and Park Güell are all located within Zone 1.
Unless you're venturing out to places like Montserrat in the far suburbs, you don't need to worry about Zone 2 or higher.

4. Decide the quantity of cards for the selected ticket type & zone.
Since my partner and I each needed one, the Quantity was: 2.
The ticket price was 13 Euros each, totaling 26 Euros for two people,
but if you're getting a card for the first time, there's an additional 1 Euro charge per card.

5. Confirm the final amount and proceed with payment
We completed the payment using our Travelog card.
The machine allowed for both card insertion and swiping.

6. The T-mobilitat Card is rechargeable
Once you've used up your remaining rides, you can simply recharge it and continue using it.

Since we didn't use public transport very often, we just bought single-use tickets as needed.
But there were also people who bought their transport passes online in advance-!

Getting from Room Mate Pau Hotel to Sagrada Familia without Transfers
If you search for directions from Room Mate Pau Hotel to Sagrada Familia on Google Maps,
it often tells you to take the subway from Catalunya Station and transfer midway.
But we didn't want the hassle of transferring, so we looked for a way to get directly from the hotel to Sagrada Familia!

Just a 10-minute walk from Room Mate Pau, you'll find Passeig de Gràcia Station.
From here, you can take the purple L2 line directly to Sagrada Familia Station without any transfers!
On the way to the subway station, we enjoyed soaking in the streetscapes of Barcelona.
We even snapped a photo of a famous Zara store in Spain! 📷

Wow, the Barcelona subway map was much better organized than I expected,
and the stations themselves were really neat and clean!

After just 3 stops (about 5 minutes) on the subway,
we arrived right at Sagrada Familia Station – super close-!
Just like in Korea's subway system, a red light illuminates the station you're currently at on the route map.

When getting off, press the green button to open the door.

When you exit the subway station, you'll see the famous Sagrada Familia Cathedral,
It truly made me keep taking photos, and all I could say while walking around was 'wow'✨
The park near the cathedral was our meeting point, and it wasn't difficult to find from the subway station.

There was a reason why the nearby park was chosen as the meeting spot.
I didn't know it then, but it turned out to be a famous photo spot!
Before the tour began, our guide, Hamincheol, even took some souvenir photos for us,
It felt great to get some amazing photos right on the first day of our Barcelona trip!🧡

Both the Gaudi tour and the Gothic Quarter night tour were incredibly satisfying.
I'll be writing about my experience with Hamincheol's MC Tour soon!✍🏻
