Barcelona Aerobus A1 Guide 2026: Tickets, Route & Timetable
Planning your Barcelona trip? Our 2026 guide covers everything you need to know about the Aerobus A1, from ticket options to routes and schedules, ensuring a hassle-free start to your adventure.
Quick answer
The Barcelona Aerobus A1 connects Terminal 1 (T1) to Plaça de Catalunya in about 35 minutes.
A one-way ticket is 7.75 Euros (approx. ~$10), and a round-trip is 13.3 Euros (approx. ~$17), saving you about ~$3.
Purchase tickets at airport kiosks, the official Aerobus website, or through travel platforms like WAG.
Aerobus A1 operates 24 hours, with frequent buses every 5-10 minutes, though less often between 12 AM and 6 AM.
Consider a taxi or private transfer if your lodging is far from stops, traveling with family, or arriving late at night.

When traveling between Barcelona Airport and the city,
I used the Aerobus A1 round-trip ticket.
On-site purchases often involve long queues,
so if your flight is set, I recommend buying your ticket in advance.

With that in mind, I've put together a comprehensive guide for the Barcelona Aerobus A1 round-trip ticket,
covering everything from how to easily purchase it, to routes, boarding locations, and timetables.

Barcelona Aerobus A1
Basic Information

Barcelona Aerobuses come in A1 and A2 versions,
which you can think of as simply differentiating by departure terminal.
We used the A1 Aerobus!
Category | Terminal 1 (T1) | Terminal 2 (T2) |
Flights | Mainly International * e.g., Asiana | Mainly Domestic, Low-cost * e.g., T'way |
Aerobus | A1 | A2 |
While broadly divided as above,
it's crucial to
always confirm which terminal your booked flight arrives at.

When purchasing your Aerobus ticket,
you only need to choose between one-way or round-trip.
Fares are:
✔️ One-way: 7.75 EUR (approx. ~$10)
✔️ Round-trip: 13.3 EUR (approx. ~$17)
A round-trip ticket is better than buying two one-way tickets,
as it's about 2.2 EUR (approx. ~$3) cheaper.

How to Buy a Round-Trip Ticket
There are three ways to purchase
Barcelona Aerobus tickets.
📌
1. Aerobus Stop Kiosk
The advantage is that you don't need to prepare anything.
The disadvantage is that you might miss your bus while buying a ticket.

I went on a spontaneous trip to Barcelona,
and bought my ticket at the kiosk.
After a flight of over 10 hours, standing in line was quite tiring.
With the bus waiting and me in line,
I also started feeling rushed...!
📌
2. Aerobus Official Website
For those who dislike waiting,
you can also purchase tickets in advance
on the Barcelona Aerobus official website.

The advantage is not having to wait in line.
The disadvantage is having to enter payment information and encountering website glitches.

📌
3. Travel Platforms
Personally, I find website glitches incredibly annoying,
so I looked for travel platforms selling Barcelona Aerobus tickets.
Especially if you're a bit clumsy like me, or if you're traveling with a group,
instead of fumbling around and waiting in line at the airport,
it'll save you a lot of hassle to buy your tickets in advance.

Round-Trip Route / Boarding Points
Here's the Barcelona Aerobus A1 round-trip route map!
It's a good idea to check the stop locations when choosing your accommodation.
You'll arrive at Plaça de Catalunya in approximately 35 minutes.

At Barcelona Airport, the boarding point for Aerobus A1
is well-marked with arrow signs, so you can just follow them.

As you walk, you'll come across an area that looks like a parking lot,
and that's indeed where you catch the Aerobus.

For your information, you can bring your luggage inside the bus.
However, the luggage space is limited, so you'll need to board quickly
to secure a spot.
(I ended up standing on the bus, holding my suitcase with my feet...)

On the way back to the airport from the city center,
I caught the A1 bus from Plaça de Catalunya,
and it was easy to find because the Aerobuses were lined up really long.
Barcelona Aerobus A1
Round-Trip Timetable
Fortunately, the A1 Aerobus operates 24 hours a day,
but between midnight and 6 AM, the intervals are longer.
Outside of those hours, buses run every 5 or 10 minutes, so there's no need to worry.

For These Travelers, Taxi or Pickup is Recommended
I've summarized everything about the Barcelona Aerobus A1, but
for these travelers, I'd recommend a taxi or private pickup over the Aerobus.
✔️ Those whose accommodation is far from an Aerobus stop
✔️ Those traveling with parents or family
✔️ Those arriving late at night or early in the morning
The reason is that we were case number 1...

Since accommodations in the city center were quite expensive,
we opted for a place slightly on the outskirts,
which meant we had to transfer to the subway from Plaça d'Espanya.

The problem was that there were no elevators in the subway station...
Maybe I couldn't find them, but there weren't even escalators,
so I ended up sweating profusely carrying my 28-inch suitcase down the stairs.

Of course, in most cases, the Aerobus is a reasonable choice,
but if your accommodation is far from an Aerobus stop, like ours was,
it might be less strenuous to just take a taxi or arrange a pickup.

Also, Barcelona is known as one of the places with a high number of pickpockets.
If you have a late-night or early morning arrival flight,
I recommend a taxi or airport pickup service.
While the price is naturally higher than the airport bus,
the more people you have, the more discount you'll receive,
so it's worth considering if you're on a family trip with parents.

Taking Barcelona Airport Bus A1 isn't difficult,
so if you purchase a round-trip ticket using a convenient method,
I think your trip will start much more smoothly.
I hope the airport bus routes, boarding points, and timetables I've shared are helpful,
and please consider taxis or pickup services depending on your own travel situation!
