The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) has recently become a mandatory electronic declaration for all arrivals.

While many nationalities, including US citizens, can enter Thailand visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days (and some for 90 days), completing the TDAC is still a requirement for all visitors.

You can easily complete the declaration on the official website linked above.

It's highly recommended to fill out your TDAC before you arrive in Bangkok. Trust us, you don't want to be scrambling to complete it after a long flight at the airport!

Remember, only forms completed within 72 hours (3 days) of your arrival are valid, so it's best to fill it out a day or two before your flight. Submitting it earlier than that will render it invalid.

Once completed, it's a good idea to print a copy or have it readily accessible on your phone to show immigration officers at Bangkok Airport!

You'll need cash for: 1) Street food vendors and market purchases, 2) Public transportation like the subway/BTS Skytrain and local buses, and 3) Crucially, many convenience stores may only accept cash for purchases under 200 Baht (about $6).✅✅✅✅

Additionally, some smaller clubs and restaurants might be cash-only.

Entry fees for Bangkok's stunning temples and historical sites are often cash-only, so it's wise to carry a decent amount of Baht with you.

For my 4-night trip to Bangkok, I initially exchanged 1000 Baht (roughly $28) at the airport. During my stay, I ended up withdrawing an additional 2000 Baht (about $56) locally and then another 1000 Baht (roughly $28).

For internet access in Thailand, you can opt for either a physical SIM card or an eSIM.

You'll find designated Grab Taxi zones right outside the airport terminals.

I usually link my primary credit card and a travel wallet card as a backup, just in case.
