Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok Review 2026: 5-Star River View Pool

Having traveled to Bangkok many times,

I've started developing my own criteria for choosing accommodation.

This time, with a focus on a fantastic pool

and a serene riverside spot along the Chao Phraya,

I spent two nights at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel.

Even though it's a 5-star hotel, the price point was surprisingly affordable,

and I especially loved the river view rooms and the two amazing swimming pools.

Being right on the Chao Phraya River,

you can enjoy stunning river views from your room,

and it's super convenient to get to ICONSIAM

by boat.

Bangkok's traffic can be notorious,

so the hotel's shuttle boat service for getting around

is a huge advantage!

Deluxe Guest Twin Room with River View

The room I stayed in was

the Deluxe River View Twin Room.

At approximately 36㎡, it was spacious enough for two,

and instead of single beds, it had two double beds,

allowing us to sleep comfortably.

As expected from a 5-star hotel,

the bedding was plush and the linens felt wonderfully soft.

On one side of the room, there was an electric kettle, coffee, and tea readily available.

Bottled water was also provided, so there was no need to head out

to buy water right after checking in.

Looking at the room, it's clear it's not a brand-new hotel.

The wood-toned furniture and wall design hint at its age,

but overall, it's very well-maintained, so it wasn't a major concern.

There's a long storage space in front of the TV,

which was convenient for placing cosmetics or small personal items.

This turned out to be a surprisingly useful and fantastic spot during my two-night stay!

The separate vanity and bathtub areas

made the bathroom layout very convenient.

Having a large bathtub, in particular,

was perfect for unwinding after a full day of sightseeing in Bangkok.

With the Chao Phraya River visible outside the window,

you can feel a resort-like ambiance even though it's a city hotel.

While the facilities themselves aren't as sleek as a brand-new hotel,

it leans more towards a classic atmosphere.

One minor drawback, however,

is that it's an older hotel,

so if room condition is a top priority for you,

you might find it a bit disappointing.

However, it's maintained just as impeccably as a new hotel,

and during my two-night stay,

I experienced no discomfort.

Royal Orchid Sheraton Highlight: Two Swimming Pools!

Personally, at this hotel,

the swimming pools left a stronger impression on me than the rooms.

There are two pools,

and their vibes are completely different!

You won't find many hotels in downtown Bangkok

that offer such a resort-like feel, you know?

I fell in love with this view and atmosphere so much

that I stayed for two nights!

There were plenty of beds available,

so even if I went after a leisurely breakfast, there was always a spot.

It's not a widely-known spot among Koreans,

so it was full of international guests, making it feel even more like a true getaway!

Another swimming pool

is a deep pool, 3 meters (10 feet) deep.

If you're serious about swimming, this is absolutely the perfect spot for you.

One of the major advantages of the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel is that

in traffic-heavy Bangkok, you can avoid the jams by taking a boat

to ICONSIAM,

arriving in just under 5 minutes!

Boats depart every 30 minutes,

allowing you to relax and enjoy your hotel stay before moving around at your leisure.

You don't need a separate reservation;

just hop on the dedicated boat at the designated area,

and you're good to go!
