Bangkok is a city brimming with trendy cafes, and one that consistently draws a vibrant crowd, especially millennials and Gen Z, is Piccolo Vicolo. Intrigued by its popularity, I decided to check out this Instagrammable hotspot for myself.

Piccolo Vicolo Location

Piccolo Vicolo is conveniently located about a 10-minute walk from BTS Ratchathewi Station. It's also quite close to the Jim Thompson House, making it an ideal second stop after exploring the historic home. Imagine enjoying some cultural heritage and then unwinding with a refreshing drink!

Keep in mind that the cafe closes at 5:00 PM, so it's not a spot for late-night coffee runs. Plan your visit accordingly to make the most of your time.
Inside

Let's take a look inside. The first floor, where you place your order, can feel a bit narrow and bustling.

While there are a few seats tucked away on the first floor, it's generally a good idea to head upstairs to the second floor or higher to find a more comfortable spot.

The cafe is spread across multiple levels: the second floor is designed as a cozy library, the third offers a charming terrace, and the fourth boasts a private suite. Before you explore, don't forget to place your order!
Menu

Let's dive into the Piccolo Vicolo menu. They feature five signature drinks, with prices ranging from approximately $4 to $5, which is quite reasonable for a trendy Bangkok cafe.

You'll also find all the classic coffee options, including Americano, Latte, and Cappuccino.

For those who prefer not to drink coffee, there's a good selection of teas, ginger drinks, and sodas available.

And of course, no cafe experience is complete without dessert! Pick something sweet to enjoy with your drink.

The second floor, designed with a "library" concept, features a wall lined with bookshelves. It's a quiet haven perfect for reading or getting some laptop work done. I settled down at one of the large tables here.

While there are plenty of seats on each floor, the cafe is incredibly popular, and during the afternoon, it can get quite busy, sometimes even with a waitlist. The view from the windows is lovely, and many people, especially the younger crowd, spend hours taking photos both inside and from the cafe's exterior!

Although it was a decent spot for some quiet work at the large table, the constant stream of customers made me feel a little conscious about staying too long.

After about an hour and a half, I decided to move on. While the coffee itself wasn't particularly outstanding, the overall aesthetic and photo-friendly atmosphere make Piccolo Vicolo a worthwhile stop, especially if you're looking for a trendy spot to capture some great memories.
This was my experience at Piccolo Vicolo near Ratchathewi. It's worth noting that they've expanded with a few other branches, including one in the Chinatown area. For accessibility, both the Ratchathewi and Chinatown locations are great, so if you're planning to visit the Jim Thompson House, definitely consider pairing it with a visit here!
