Planning your Bangkok adventure for 2026? Unsure where to book your stay? Explore top areas like Asok, Sukhumvit, and the Chao Phraya River for an unforgettable trip!

Bangkok Accommodation: Best Location Picks
Hey there, Global Explorers! Yoonmad here.
Even with fluctuating exchange rates impacting travel, Bangkok remains an absolute favorite for so many adventurers – myself included! Seriously, I love Bangkok so much I find myself drawn back there every single year.
And let me tell you, Bangkok's hotel scene is incredibly diverse, offering everything from amazing value-for-money stays to luxurious 5-star havens perfect for a relaxing 'hocance' (that's a hotel vacation, for the uninitiated!).
So, whether you're planning your very first Bangkok adventure or you've got your sights set on specific attractions but aren't sure where to base yourself, today I'm going to share my top recommendations for where to stay in Bangkok.
1. Where to Stay in Bangkok: Our Top Picks

When it comes to prime locations for your Bangkok stay, you'll generally find the best options around Asok/Sukhumvit, Siam,
Silom, and the magnificent Chao Phraya River.

① Asok/Sukhumvit
This area is incredibly well-connected by both the BTS Skytrain and MRT subway,
making it super easy to zip around to all the main tourist spots.
You'll find all the essential amenities concentrated here – think fantastic shopping malls, delicious eateries, Korean restaurants, and relaxing massage parlors.
So, if it's your first time in Bangkok, Asok/Sukhumvit is definitely the place to be!
Plus, if you're planning any joint tours to incredible places like Damnoen Saduak or Ayutthaya,
their meeting points are often right here.
Staying near Asok Station will make your entire Bangkok trip incredibly smooth and convenient.

② Silom
If the bustling vibe around Asok Station feels a little too much,
then Silom could be your perfect alternative.
You'll still find an abundance of incredible restaurants and shopping malls nearby.
What makes Silom truly shine are the numerous 5-star hotels perfect for a luxurious 'hocance'
like the Dusit Thani, Sukhothai, and Kimpton – all conveniently located right here! :)

③ Near Chao Phraya River
This is where you'll find an array of magnificent hotels perfect for a 'hocance' –
think The Peninsula, Mandarin Oriental, Hilton,
Shangri-La, Four Seasons, Anantara, and more.
It's the ideal spot for those who dream of unwinding in luxurious comfort rather than rushing between sights!
And don't worry, you're not completely cut off from the action! You can easily hop on a river bus or a hotel's private shuttle to explore iconic sights like Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, and Asiatique.
So, if you prefer a more serene vibe than the bustling city center around Asok, the Chao Phraya River area is calling your name! :)
2. Exploring Hotels Near Bangkok's Asok Station

When you think of hotels near Bangkok's Asok Station,
one name instantly comes to mind: the famously brilliant Grand Centre Point!
This was actually one of the very first hotels I stayed at on my initial Bangkok trip, and I have such wonderful memories of it.
As for the location? It's absolutely unbeatable, trust me!
The hotel lobby is directly connected to the incredible Terminal 21 shopping mall, and even the BTS Skytrain is accessible right from the hotel, making it effortlessly convenient to explore anywhere you desire.

And if you're lucky enough to be assigned a high-floor room, the panoramic views of Bangkok's dazzling cityscape are absolutely breathtaking and incredibly satisfying!
I actually vowed to return, but with so many other fantastic hotels to experience in Bangkok,
I just haven't made it back yet! Haha, a good problem to have, right?
📍 Grand Centre Point Hotel Terminal 21
2 Soi Sukhumvit 19, Khwaeng Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10110 Thailand

If you're looking for a value-for-money hotel near Asok Station,
Rembrandt is a great option.
After getting off at Asok Station, it's about a 10-minute walk
to reach the hotel, but
when you leave the hotel, a tuk-tuk will conveniently
take you to the main road!

When I visited,
the rooms were undergoing renovation,
so those booking now
will likely be assigned much cleaner rooms!
The pool atmosphere was also lovely,
and overall, it's one of the Bangkok hotels I was truly satisfied with!
📍 Rembrandt Hotel & Suites Bangkok
19 Soi Sukhumvit 18, Khwaeng Khlong Toei, Khet Khlong Toei, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10110 Thailand
3. Bangkok Riverside Hotel

Located by the riverside,
the Millennium Hilton Hotel Bangkok!
ICONSIAM is right next door,
so I think I went to ICONSIAM every day, haha!
Transportation like the BTS isn't as readily available here,
so I recommend taking taxis to get around.
However, it's convenient to take a water taxi to get to the Grand Palace, Wat Arun,
and Khao San Road.
Oh, but because it's across the river,
for private tours, pickups, or drop-offs,
there's an additional charge of 100 Baht...

It's famous for its delicious breakfast,
and the restaurant has a wonderful ambiance,
so be sure to add breakfast to your stay! :)
📍 Millennium Hilton Bangkok
123 Charoen Nakhon Rd, Khwaeng Khlong Ton Sai, Khet Khlong San, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10600 Thailand

Right across from the Millennium Hilton is
the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel!
Here too, all rooms offer a Chao Phraya River view,
which is fantastic. While Hilton has a side view,
Sheraton offers a direct front view,
so the view here is indeed better.

There are two swimming pools;
the one further inside has a resort-like feel
and a great ambiance.
The pool overlooking the river also has deep sections,
so it looks perfect for those who love to swim!
📍 Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers
2 Charoen Krung 30, Khwaeng Bang Rak, Khet Bang Rak, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10500 Thailand

If you're not particularly interested in a luxurious 'hotel-cation'
but you're looking for a Bangkok hotel with a great location and amazing value,
then I also recommend True Siam Phayathai.
It's conveniently located near BTS Phayathai station.
It's just two stops to Siam Station,
and six stops to Asok Station,
making its location quite excellent.

The rooms are also quite spacious,
perfectly adequate for two adults.
Even during the peak winter season,
I booked it for around ~$29 per night,
so it was truly a fantastic value hotel in Bangkok. :)

45 Soi Si Ayutthaya 12, Khwaeng Thanon Phaya Thai, Khet Ratchathewi, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10400 Thailand
4. Wrapping Up

So, I've shared my recommendations for Bangkok accommodation locations
and value-for-money hotels near Asok Station and Riverside.
Both of these areas are my favorites,
but they each have distinct pros and cons, so you should book according to your travel style.
If it's your first or second time visiting Bangkok,
Asok Station is probably the most convenient.
After that, areas like Riverside, Silom, and Chit Lom, which are slightly further out, tend to be quieter and nicer, haha.
