Bangkok is calling my name this December,
I've got my hotel sorted, and even snagged some BTS concert tickets,
But guess what? I'm still missing my flight ticket...
So, I'm patiently waiting for the lowest airfare from Seoul to Bangkok...
Currently, with Thai Airways, it's ~$324
(I should have booked when it was ~$304 a little while ago...)
You can set up price drop alerts on Trip.com,
so you can snag the lowest fare!💜
So, about that family trip... our flight ended up getting canceled,
Here's the wild story of how I ended up going to Thailand alone...

Oh, when was that again...?
My youngest sibling got this amazing opportunity to join
a UN internship program in Thailand.
So, we thought, 'Hey, let's turn this into a family trip to Bangkok and visit them too!' ‼️
That's how we picked our travel dates.
However, as luck would have it,
I had to attend a forum as a company representative, which meant
a massive journey for me: Mokpo➡️Seoul➡️Gimpo➡️Gimhae.
(Next time, I'm definitely flying out of Incheon!)
The sky, which had been bright and sunny until midday,
suddenly darkened...
And I was supposed to be heading to Gimhae!
My flight was delayed, then delayed again...
and eventually, it was canceled. Just like that!

Are you kidding me?!
Because my tickets weren't booked as a transfer
but as individual flights,
and I hadn't even chosen the same airline, I wasn't offered an alternative flight!
My family was anxiously waiting for me at Gimhae Airport,
and suddenly, taking the KTX or even a bus became impossible for me.
I just waited at Gimpo Airport, completely lost and hopeless...
And I have this rather sad memory of finally arriving late at Gimhae Airport
and frantically searching for the next available flight...

I somehow managed to explain the situation to the pre-booked airport-to-hotel taxi service,
adjusted my booking, and eventually made it to the airport.
Just another travel episode to add to my collection!

We stayed in a connecting room at a Sukhumvit hotel, super close to Terminal 21.

They even had welcome fruits ready for us,
and I remember the staff being incredibly kind in every way.

Before heading out, I made sure to snap a proper selfie,

and took some photos of Mom and Dad too.

Time to hop on the BTS Skytrain!
Funny, back then I wasn't even an ARMY!
Hehe

We took the Sukhumvit Line all the way to Chatuchak Market〰️
If you're visiting Bangkok for the first time,
Chatuchak Market is absolutely an unmissable stop.
Though many travelers visit Sampeng Market these days,
a classic is a classic for a reason!
Let's Dive into Chatuchak Market Shopping!

As soon as we arrived,
we made sure to snap some essential 'I was here!' photos.
📍 Chatuchak Weekend Market
587, 10 Kamphaeng Phet 2 Rd, Khwaeng Chatuchak, Khet Chatuchak, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10900, Thailand

Elephant pants
Elephant wallets
Elephant pouches, and more!
So many different shopping items perfect for gifts
had my head spinning (in a good way!),,

Then, we moved on to make a passport wallet!
Chatuchak Market is incredibly bustling
and complex, so
it's super convenient to note down the numbers of the shops you want to visit in advance!

Haha, is this a fixed price?
Passport Wallet (Individual) + Charm Price List
The owner cleverly showed us a memo they had already prepared,

Not just passport wallets,
but they also have various other products like pouches and bags.
They're made of what feels like Saffiano-style material (?),
so they seem durable and would make great gifts.

The Amy-Randa sisters also cleverly picked out their desired colors,
and arranged charms like elephants and the map of Thailand.
Time to design!

Rattan dreamcatchers,
leather crafts, dishes, cosmetics, ointments, and so much more!
With such a huge variety of products,
it seems we powered through the humid weather and really enjoyed our shopping spree!

There were even dresses that would make you feel like Heidi from the Alps,

Oh, they'd look absolutely adorable on little ones! ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

To cool down from the heat for a bit,
we stopped for a drink,

dodged the sudden downpour of rain,
and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Chatuchak Market.
There are many massage shops too,
but I've heard recently that some people have gotten infections due to hygiene issues,
so please be careful! 🥲

After enjoying mango sticky rice and even paella,
our Chatuchak Market adventure came to an end.
Passport holders are priced separately for the individual wallet and its parts. They are made of durable Saffiano material. You can design them using various parts like elephants or Thai maps.
