If you're planning a trip to Bangkok, chances are you'll find yourself staying or shopping near the bustling Asok and Sukhumvit stations. It's a vibrant hub, and conveniently, you'll find expert massage services for both traditional Thai and aromatic therapies right here.
Let me introduce you to A Spa & Massage, a spot I frequently visit.

Getting to A Spa
A Spa is about a 10-minute walk (roughly half a mile) from the popular Asok and Sukhumvit stations. However, Bangkok's heat can make even a short stroll feel exhausting. If you head towards Exit 6, you'll find their dedicated tuk-tuk service waiting to whisk you away.
As you enter Sukhumvit Soi 18, you'll spot a 7-Eleven convenience store. This is where A Spa's private tuk-tuk usually waits. Don't fret if you don't see it immediately; just wait a few moments, and it will surely arrive.
Right next door is the Rembrandt Hotel, a place I often stay due to its excellent value. My friends and I have frequently visited this area during our trips.
Inside A Spa
Stepping inside A Spa, you'll immediately notice several unique touches. One major advantage is that they have staff who speak excellent English. This is a huge plus, as it eliminates any worries about clearly communicating your preferences or needs before your massage.
I've visited some budget-friendly local massage shops before, and some of them could feel quite dim or even a bit gloomy. A Spa, however, is bathed in bright sunlight, creating a wonderfully cheerful atmosphere that instantly lifts your spirits.
We had made a reservation in advance, and upon arrival, our slippers were already laid out. Now, let's take a look at their menu!
A Spa Massage Prices
Let's check out the massage menu. A Head & Shoulder massage is 550 Baht for an hour, while a Traditional Thai massage is 450 Baht. I used to prefer a simple one-hour foot massage, but once I tried the herbal ball or hot stone massage, the difference in muscle recovery was incomparable.
The prices are comparable to other establishments, but I'll share a trick to get an extra discount here.
I highly recommend the Herbal Ball or Hot Stone massage. If you're going for it, don't settle for the standard 60 minutes; opt for the 90-minute session and make sure to apply the discount. 60 minutes can feel a bit too short, and 120 minutes might be a little long. I find that 90 minutes is the perfect sweet spot.
Alternatively, you might even consider trying the 'Four Hands' massage, which isn't always on the main menu. This is an aromatherapy session delivered by two therapists, and the price difference isn't that significant. The pressure, however, feels more than twice as invigorating!
Before your massage begins, you'll have time to select your preferred aroma oil. They offer five types: Coconut, Sakura, Refreshing, Lavender, and Thai Herb. They'll apply a small amount to your hand so you can choose your favorite scent.
It was my first time visiting a place that offered personalized oil selection like this, and it's these little details that show their thoughtfulness.
Of course, you'll start with a refreshing foot wash. Even after showering that morning, I felt a little self-conscious about my feet! I was so excited I barely took my bag off.
Once the therapist steps out, you can change, ring the bell, and they'll return promptly. The lighting is dimmed to create a comfortable, private atmosphere. They also accommodate guests of different genders in the same space, ensuring everyone feels at ease.
While facilities and cleanliness are important, I believe the skill of the therapists is the most crucial factor in choosing a massage shop. Sometimes, there can be slight differences in skill among therapists, or a client might not quite gel with their assigned masseuse, leading to complaints.
My therapist was exceptional; I didn't need to ask for any adjustments. I usually request a gentler touch because many parts of my body, including my torso, tend to be sensitive. I suspect all the therapists at A Spa are well-trained and maintain a high standard of skill.
The pressure was just right – not too painful, not too weak – leaving me feeling incredibly refreshed.
The 90 minutes flew by so quickly, it felt like only 60! When I returned to the first floor, they offered me a warm tea and some delicious mango.
How can I get to Ace Spa from Asok/Sukhumvit Station, and where can I find the dedicated tuk-tuk?
Ace Spa is located approximately a 10-minute walk from Asok Station and Sukhumvit Station. Considering the hot weather, we recommend heading towards Exit 6 and using the Ace Spa dedicated tuk-tuk in front of the 7-Eleven convenience store at the entrance of Sukhumvit Soi 18. If you don't see the tuk-tuk immediately, please wait a moment, and it will arrive.
What are the 1-hour prices for Head & Shoulder and Thai Massage among the menu options at Ace Spa?
For Ace Spa's massage menu, Head & Shoulder is ~$16 for 1 hour, and Thai Massage is ~$13 for 1 hour. These prices are comparable to other establishments, but there are ways to receive additional discounts.
What massage types does Ace Spa recommend, and what is the appropriate duration for a massage?
Ace Spa recommends herbal ball or hot stone massages. You might also consider trying the 'four hands' massage, which is not listed on the regular menu. Regarding duration, 60 minutes can be too short, and 120 minutes might feel tedious, so 90 minutes is recommended as the ideal length.
What are the distinguishing features that set Ace Spa apart from other massage shops?
Ace Spa stands out with staff who are fluent in Korean, making communication easy and convenient. Instead of a dark atmosphere, it offers a bright and sunny environment. You can choose from a total of 5 aroma oils, including coconut and sakura, for a personalized experience. After your massage, we provide warm tea and sweet mango.
