Bali March Weather 2026: Is Ubud Rainy Season Worth It?
Planning a Bali trip for March 2026? Discover what the 'wet season' really means for Ubud! My recent experience proves sunny days are possible. Get the full scoop!
Your weather correspondent, Happy Heeya, is back! 🤭
I'm currently on an adventure in Bali, Indonesia, and after spending 3 nights and 4 days exploring Ubud, I'm writing this update on Bali's March 'rainy season' weather while waiting for my boat to Gili Trawangan Island 🇮🇩.
▪️ Bali's Dry Season: April - October
▪️ Bali's Wet Season: November - March
Having experienced both wet and dry seasons in places like Nha Trang and Phu Quoc in Vietnam, I'd say if water activities are your top priority, the dry season is definitely the way to go.
However, my Bali trip was in March, and I'd heard reviews that the rain had stopped by late February and clear weather had been consistent since. Naturally, I was pretty excited! 🙄

I flew Garuda Indonesia for the first time and snagged a direct flight for one person for around ~$320! What a deal!

Arriving at Bali Airport, I was immediately greeted by that familiar humidity and warmth. The next morning, an essential part of my Ubud trip was a sunrise tour, but I was startled awake by the sound of rain.
Even on the way to Mount Batur, there was a brief shower.
It felt less like an aurora hunt and more like a lightning chase, as we got closer and closer to the storm! 🥺⚡️

Luckily, the heavy rain stopped, but unfortunately, we didn't get a proper sunrise view. I'd debated between a sunrise and sunset tour, and if I'd known this, I definitely would have chosen the sunset tour! 🥹

But then, when I arrived back at my accommodation, the weather was absolutely gorgeous! It's an Ubud accommodation without many English reviews yet, but I'll be sharing my full review soon! 🙏

After a refreshing swim and breakfast, we headed into Ubud town. ☺️

I got a bit overconfident walking to Monkey Forest and paid the price – a mischievous monkey swiped my civet coffee! Still makes my blood boil thinking about it! 🤬

The next morning, Ubud's weather was so incredible, I questioned if it was truly Bali's 'wet season' in March. How much better could the dry season possibly be?! 😢
I successfully made it for the opening of Cretya Ubud, but there was a catch...

With the clear weather and no crowds, I had the place almost to myself and snapped some amazing photos! 📸

After heading back for breakfast, it was off to Ubud town again. The weather was still glorious! So don't worry about Bali's wet season! 〰️

On the way to catch the sunset, some patchy clouds started rolling in. 🙄

Even so, it didn't rain, so we enjoyed a delicious dinner. We missed the actual sunset, but the weather was still fantastic. It was perfectly cool and breezy. 🌬️

Another beautiful, sunny day in Ubud! ☺️ Will the weather gods continue to bless my journey on Gili Trawangan? 🧚
I hope this Ubud travel info, showing that you don't need to worry about the weather even during Bali's wet season, was helpful! That's all for now from your travel correspondent, Happy Heeya! See you in Gili! 🤭👐
