Ngurah Rai Airport KKday Pick-up
If you're arriving in Bali on a late-night flight,
you might be wondering whether to choose Grab or an airport pick-up, right?
After a 7-hour flight, you wouldn't want to struggle finding a Grab,
or risk being overcharged by a taxi. It's totally understandable to worry about that,
as a rough start to your trip can mess up your entire itinerary for the next day!
That's why I decided to book a KKday airport pick-up, and I'm here to share my review comparing it to Grab.

1. KKday Pick-up vs. Grab Comparison

My flight arrived at 9:45 PM.
Since Ubud town is about an hour away from the airport,
choosing the right transportation was crucial.
Imagine having to open an app and wait for a car after going through immigration in a chaotic situation – that would surely make your first day of travel exhausting!
That's why I opted for an airport pick-up from Ngurah Rai (DPS) Airport
to my accommodation near Monkey Forest in Ubud town.
⭐To help you decide, I've compared both options point-by-point.
Category | KKday Pick-up | Grab |
Booking Time | Pre-book before departure | Call on demand at the location |
Price | ~$18 | ~$24 (354,800 IDR) |
Late-night arrival | Driver contacts you first | May be difficult to find a car |
Contact Method | Direct contact via WhatsApp | Handled through the app |
Convenience | Meet directly at the meeting zone | You need to find the car yourself |
Points | KKday points can be earned/used | None |
The final payment was ~$18.
This was after using about ~$0 worth of points, making it about ~$6 cheaper than Grab.
For an hour's drive, this felt like an incredible deal!

Since it was cheaper and I could earn points, I decided on KKday.

2. My Pick-up Experience from the Airport to the Accommodation
Arriving late at night in an unfamiliar airport, that moment of "Where do I go and who do I meet?" can feel overwhelming, right?
Let me walk you through my experience step-by-step.

The driver contacted me via WhatsApp.
The driver sent me a message first on WhatsApp.
The contact was perfectly timed with my flight's arrival.
The first message I received was:
“Hiii IM your driver”
Following that, they also sent a photo of the KKday meeting point sign.
This helped me know exactly where to go in advance.

When you exit Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport,
you'll see the meeting zone on your way out.
Many platforms gather there.
If I had chosen Grab, I would have been opening the app at that hour,
waiting for a car to be assigned.
Just knowing I had a direct point of contact
brought such peace of mind in an unfamiliar airport.

Since communication is primarily through WhatsApp,
make sure to install the app before you depart.
I easily found my name at the meeting zone.
Upon stepping out into the meeting zone, my name was clearly visible, written in large letters.
There was no need to search around.

A staff member at the meeting zone escorted us to our driver and introduced us.

After exchanging greetings, the driver
led the way to the parking lot where the car was waiting.
At an airport I was visiting for the first time,
simply having someone guide the way
made me feel so reassured.
Bali Airport is famously busy.
And the traffic around Ubud can be pretty serious...

For airport pickup,
you don't necessarily need to find a driver who speaks Korean.
There's no real need for conversation during the ride,
and simple English words are more than enough
to communicate.
However, if you do need Korean communication,
I recommend Marit airport pickup.
Just note that it's about ~$7 more expensive.

After a short wait in the parking lot,
the driver brought the car around,
and helped load our luggage into the trunk.

The car was well-maintained and clean,
and the driver's smooth driving made for a comfortable journey
all the way to our accommodation in Ubud town.
The driver contacted me proactively to confirm my arrival time,
so even with a late-night arrival, there was no need
to call for a car on the spot.
I especially recommend this service if you're arriving on a late-night flight.

3. KKday Booking Process and Pickup Benefits

I'll also outline the booking process I went through myself.
I made the reservation 8 nights before my departure.
The booking screen required my flight number,
arrival time, and accommodation address, and there was a separate field
for the orderer's WhatsApp number in the contact information.
About two minutes after payment,
a confirmation voucher arrived in my registered email.

Vehicles seating 5 to 12 people are available,
and since prices and vehicle options vary by date,
it's a good idea to check in advance.

KKday airport pickup includes
120 minutes of free waiting time.
When immigration procedures take longer, don't you worry
about keeping your driver waiting?
From your flight's actual arrival time,
the driver waits for free for 120 minutes.
Additional costs included in the fare:
Vehicle costs, insurance, fuel,
parking, and tolls are all included in the fare.

4. Journey's End
My biggest concern, arriving late at night,
was getting around the airport.
But with the driver contacting me proactively
and waiting, I had no worries.
It was also cheaper than other platforms,
and about ~$6 cheaper compared to Grab, which was a plus.
If you're heading to Bali on a late-night flight,
I highly recommend airport pickup.
Make sure to book in advance!
