When you dream of a Bali getaway, there are always those must-do experiences that come to mind, right?
For me, it was all about hitting the waves at Kuta Beach for surfing and embarking on a thrilling Nusa Lembongan snorkeling tour.
And let me tell you, they were even more incredible than I imagined! That's why I'm excited to share my experiences and recommend them to all of you.
🏄 Morning Surf Session at Kuta Beach
As Bali's most iconic beach, Kuta was already buzzing with people even early in the morning. It's truly a vibrant spot!

I booked my session through Klook, and at about ~$10 per person, it was super affordable and didn't break the bank.

✔️Lesson Duration
The lesson ran for about 90 minutes. We started with some basic stance practice on the sand, then it was straight into the ocean!
Kicking off around 8:30 AM meant the sun wasn't too intense, making it a much more comfortable experience.
They provide all the gear – rash guards and board shorts – and even snap some awesome photos, so you really don't need to bring much beyond your enthusiasm.
✔️Showers
While showers aren't typically included in the tour package, there are simple shower facilities available at Kuta Beach for about ~$1.
Just remember to bring some cash for this!
Honestly, my energy levels drained pretty quickly, and even an hour felt like a workout! 😂
But the waves here are significantly larger than what I've experienced elsewhere, making it incredibly thrilling.
If you're staying in the Kuta area, it's super convenient to get to, so I highly recommend it!
🐠 Nusa Lembongan Snorkeling Adventure
Just a short boat ride from Bali's Sanur Harbor lies Nusa Lembongan, an island boasting ocean colors so vibrant they're almost unbelievable.
I booked my full-day tour through KKday, and it was incredibly convenient since it included everything from hotel pickup to the island tour itself.
If you're staying in Sanur,
I absolutely recommend adding a Lembongan tour to your itinerary!
In the morning, we explored three distinct snorkeling spots.
The deep cliff-edge point, where the ocean floor dramatically drops away, was particularly memorable and awe-inspiring.
Most participants on the tour
were strong swimmers. So,
if you're not entirely comfortable in deep water, this particular tour might be a bit challenging.
While we didn't spot any majestic manta rays,
the water was so incredibly clear that just watching the vibrant fish was a joy.
Lunch was an Indonesian-style buffet,
which was surprisingly clean and quite delicious.
The afternoon was dedicated to an island tour, including iconic spots like Devil's Tear and various stunning beaches.
The crashing waves at Devil's Tear were truly breathtaking and utterly mesmerizing.
Although I didn't get many photos after all that snorkeling,
this tour perfectly combined underwater adventure with incredible sightseeing!

Essentials include a swimsuit, beach towel,
sunscreen, water-friendly shoes,
and some cash.
🍯Cash Tip!🍯
Near Devil's Tear,
there are small stalls where you can grab snacks and drinks, but they often only accept cash.
After all that swimming, a refreshing beverage was exactly what I needed!
We were bummed not to have cash, but if you're reading this, consider yourself lucky!
Make sure to bring some with you.

I really packed my days with activities: starting with a morning surf session and then jumping into a full-day snorkeling tour.
It's clear that Bali is far too dynamic to just sit back and relax.
The ocean colors are diverse, the waves vary, and the sheer number of activity options is astounding.
While it was definitely a bit tiring 😂, the satisfaction was absolutely off the charts!
If you're heading to Bali, I truly encourage you to challenge yourself with at least one or two of these incredible experiences.
