Discover Arcadia Hotel Varanasi! We share an honest take on its comfortable rooms, tasty breakfast, and unique location, helping you decide if it's your ideal 2026 Varanasi base.

Let's talk about accommodations in Varanasi, India! For my second trip to India, I opted for a Tripvillage package tour, which meant all the details—like where to stay, what to eat, and the itinerary—were expertly handled. In Varanasi, we stayed at the 'Arcadia Hotel Varanasi,' and I'm excited to share my experience because the room conditions were fantastic, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious.
Location

Let's start with the one drawback of Arcadia Hotel: its distance from the Ganges River Ghats. Even by car, it takes over 20 minutes to reach the main Ghats. What's more, as you get closer to the major tourist areas I've marked on the map, the roads narrow significantly, and crowds swell, making car access impossible. You'll typically need to get out and switch to a rickshaw partway there.

Given that it's about a 30-minute drive from the airport to the hotel, and then another 20 minutes to the Ghats, choosing Arcadia Hotel for an independent trip to Varanasi might not be ideal if you prioritize proximity to the river. I've also reviewed another hotel closer to the Ghats, so feel free to check that out as well:

Upon check-in, a friendly staff member came over and personally presented us with a unique garland-like necklace! It was a lovely, traditional welcome.
Inside Arcadia Hotel

We arrived at Varanasi Airport early in the morning after our flight. Since it was too early for check-in, we explored some local sights before returning to the hotel that morning. I didn't manage to snap photos of the hotel's exterior; I was juggling filming for YouTube and taking pictures with my phone – it was quite a whirlwind!

Walking around Varanasi and New Delhi, you'll find yourself constantly sweating and needing to stay alert. However, the moment you step into your hotel room, it's as if all that chaos melts away. Finding a well-soundproofed hotel is definitely a wise choice in India!

I didn't have high expectations for the hotel since I mainly planned to sleep there, but I was pleasantly surprised by how excellent the room condition was. It certainly felt like a solid 4-star experience!
Breakfast

Breakfast is served on the first floor at the SALT Restaurant. 'Salt Restaurant'? I wondered if the food would be too salty, but it wasn't at all!

You'll find standard offerings like cereals, bread, and juices,

And, of course, curries! These are a staple you'll find easily in Indian hotels and restaurants. Dipping naan bread into curry was a new experience for me in India, and it was surprisingly convenient and delicious.

I'm not exactly sure which area this is near, but once you step away from the immediate Ghat vicinity, you'll find regular shops. Varanasi truly is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to India.

The next morning, after enjoying a second delicious breakfast, we departed Varanasi. In India, it's generally a good idea for your health to make the most of hotel breakfast services, as the hygiene conditions of street food stalls can be unreliable.

Many people mistakenly believe that all curries taste the same. However, their appearances and flavors vary widely! I tried a little bit of everything and found that none of the dishes were unpalatable. In fact, discovering new flavors was an exciting experience. Sometimes, even back home, I find myself missing Indian curry and naan!
In summary, I've given you a brief overview of Arcadia Hotel Varanasi. As I mentioned, its distance from the main Ghats makes it less ideal for independent travelers, but it's an excellent choice if it's part of a package tour.

Arcadia Hotel Varanasi is located more than a 20-minute drive from the Ganges River Ghats. The roads near the Ghats are narrow and crowded, making vehicle access difficult, so you would need to transfer to a rickshaw. Therefore, it is recommended for those on a package tour rather than individual free travelers.
It takes approximately 30 minutes to travel from Varanasi Airport to Arcadia Hotel Varanasi. An additional 20 minutes is required to get from the hotel to the Ganges River Ghats.
Breakfast at Arcadia Hotel Varanasi is served at the SALT Restaurant on the 1st floor. In addition to cereals, bread, and juice, you can enjoy a variety of curries and naan. The room condition was much better than expected, and the soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a comfortable stay.
