When I travel, I always try to catch at least one sunset a day,

and when I was planning my Paris trip, a keyword I definitely searched for was

"Paris Sunset Spots"

Among them, the Arc de Triomphe immediately caught my eye!

The Arc de Triomphe, a must-visit Parisian landmark,

offers free access to its observatory if you have a Museum Pass,

so there was no reason not to go *.*

I want to share everything, from how to access the Arc de Triomphe observatory,

a prime spot for Paris sunsets that I highly recommend for your trip,

to the incredible views I experienced firsthand!

Paris Sunset Spot: The Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe stands proudly at the end of the Champs-Élysées, a truly iconic Parisian landmark.

During the day, many people just snap photos in front of it and move on,

but the Arc de Triomphe also boasts an observatory,

which is fantastic even during the day, offering panoramic views of the entire city!

But the biggest advantage of the Arc de Triomphe observatory is undoubtedly

the direct, frontal view of the Eiffel Tower.

It's a completely different experience than seeing it up close,

and perhaps the best spot to see the Eiffel Tower from a distance *.*

Another reason I highly recommend visiting the Arc de Triomphe observatory is

the chance to witness Paris's roads radiating outwards in every direction.

It's a truly unique viewpoint where you can see both the city of Paris and the Eiffel Tower.

Personally, rather than arriving exactly at sunset,

I recommend visiting at least 30 minutes before sunset

to enjoy the clear sky, sunset, blue hour, and then the night view all in one go. Haha!

I went up an hour early and filled my eyes with the gradual transformation of the sky and the Eiffel Tower, from clear blue to the magical hues of evening!

Purchasing the Museum Pass

Arc de Triomphe Admission:

- Until September 30th: General admission €22 / Wednesdays €16

- From October 1st to March 30th: General admission €16

Therefore, it's best to plan your visit to the Arc de Triomphe observatory

on a day when you're using your Museum Pass.

How to Enter the Arc de Triomphe Observatory in Paris

To purchase tickets for the Arc de Triomphe panoramic terrace in Paris,

you can buy them at the ticket office in the underground passage!

After buying your ticket at the underground ticket office,

you simply queue up and head up the stairs.

However, even when I visited early in the day, it was already incredibly crowded.

Since it's such a popular spot, as sunset approaches,

both the ticket purchase line and the entrance line get even longer,

so it's a great idea to buy in advance if you can!

Especially if you're planning to visit around sunset,

I highly recommend purchasing your tickets beforehand.

Tickets for September were approximately ~$25 on MyRealTrip

If you have a Museum Pass,

you can enter directly without purchasing a separate ticket.

On the day I planned to use my Museum Pass

to go up to the observation deck, it turned out the day I visited

the Arc de Triomphe was closed due to a European Victory Day event,

so I ended up buying a separate ticket to go up anyway, haha!

Arc de Triomphe Sunset and Night View Review

After climbing those challenging stairs, you're greeted by an absolutely magnificent view

It's truly breathtaking *.*

Seeing this view made me realize, once again, that I was really in Paris, you know?

As the sun sets and the sky deepens in color,

the sky on the opposite side of the Eiffel Tower

actually becomes more vibrantly colored than the sky near the Eiffel Tower itself!

So, don't just fixate on the Eiffel Tower; it's best to explore the panoramic views 360 degrees around you!

Oh, wow, it's so beautiful!

When the sky gradually turns pink,

you absolutely have to be right in front of the Eiffel Tower.

hahahahahaha

Just before it gets completely dark, like this,

the reason you need to pay close attention when the Eiffel Tower is bathed in its golden light is...

it sparkles on the hour!!!

Just like this *.*

I didn't even know it sparkled on the hour,

but seeing it sparkle right as the hour struck with my own eyes,

I totally understood why everyone raves about the Eiffel Tower ㅠ ㅠ

From before sunset to the stunning night views after it set,

I spent about two hours on the Arc de Triomphe observation deck, but

it was absolutely time well spent!
