Apurva Kempinski Bali Review: Nusa Dua Luxury

For this trip to Bali,

I traveled around and stayed in Canggu, Seminyak, and Nusa Dua!

Moving from one gorgeous area to the next.

Today, I want to introduce the stunning 5-star resort

where I stayed in Nusa Dua: "The Apurva Kempinski."

Southern Bali (Jimbaran, Uluwatu, Nusa Dua)

has a completely different vibe compared to Canggu and Seminyak.

It's packed with luxury resorts and 5-star hotels,

making it a super popular destination

for honeymooners, couples, and families

who prefer a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere.

Among those, I chose to stay at

"The Apurva Kempinski Bali" in Nusa Dua.

Honestly? I fell in love with just one photo and booked it instantly.

Yup, it was this breathtaking night view that sold me!

The Apurva Kempinski has

so many things to do right on-site,

so we didn't book any outside tours

for our last 3 days and 2 nights in Bali.

We spent almost all of our time relaxing at the resort!

all the hotel amenities very soon.

Since it's a 5-star hotel,

it's definitely on the pricier side,

but with so much to do and experience,

it felt absolutely worth every penny.

Kempinski Check-in

The lobby at the Kempinski is absolutely massive!

It had a much stronger,

more authentic Balinese feel than other hotels.

We were served a welcome tea and cold towels while waiting,

and when our turn came, we headed to the counter.

As we were checking in,

the staff member asked if we were from Korea

and started speaking fluent Korean!

It turns out they had studied in Korea.

It instantly made us feel so much more comfortable and welcome.

Check-in is normally at 3:00 PM, but since we arrived early,

they were able to offer us an early check-in.

However, I had previously requested twin beds,

but it seemed that request hadn't been processed yet.

When I brought up the twin bed request during check-in,

they said they would set up the room for us and let us know when it was ready.

It did take quite a bit of time to wait,

but once we saw the room,

we completely understood why it took so long.

I'll explain that in detail below! haha

Ocean Court Grand Deluxe Room Condition

As soon as you open the door, there's a space on the left to place your luggage,

and on the right, there's a cozy living room area with a sofa and a table.

As welcome treats, there was fresh fruit,

a traditional Balinese dessert set, and peanuts.

That Balinese dessert set was surprisingly delicious!

I didn't try the peanuts myself, but my companion said they were great.

Opposite the requested twin beds,

you'll find the spacious bathroom and restroom.

Here is the twin bed setup

that took us a bit of time to get ready.

Instead of just separating two beds,

they had actually set up a partition

making it feel like a private business class cabin on a flight!

As soon as I saw it, I completely understood why it took so long to get ready!

For those traveling with friends,

or if you're someone who can't sleep comfortably sharing a double bed,

if you request twin beds at Kempinski,

they have this partition setup,

and I got the most amazing night's sleep!

There’s also a table on one side,

perfect for catching up on some quick work.

Inside the cabinet under the TV, you'll find a coffee machine, an electric kettle,

all sorts of tableware, and tea bags.

The Apurva Kempinski Bali: Bathroom & Restroom

Whenever I stay at a hotel,

one of the most critical things for me is the condition of the bathroom.

And let me tell you, the crown jewel of The Apurva Kempinski

is definitely the bathroom.

The moment I opened the door, I was absolutely blown away!!

A bathroom view like this is actually more affordable than you'd think!

Sliding open the wooden doors from the bedroom

reveals the bathtub, shower room, and restroom.

Many hotels use semi-transparent glass doors to separate these spaces,

which can be a bit awkward if you're private about your bathroom time.

But at Kempinski, they are completely separate rooms,

which I absolutely loved!

Having double sinks made getting ready so convenient,

and to help avoid the dreaded "Bali Belly,"

they even provide bottled water specifically for brushing your teeth.

The shower is on the left, and the toilet is on the right,

perfectly separated.

You can also easily swap out the shower head with your own filter.

Even the bathroom amenities

are elegantly tucked away in a beautiful mother-of-pearl box.

You can really feel the thoughtful touch in every little detail.

There are plenty of fresh towels

and even a scale! haha.

Since we worked out every day during our stay,

we actually put that scale to good use.

When you lie down in the tub, right at eye level,

there's a stunning display of floral landscaping.

While the flowers look beautiful from the inside,

they also double as a natural screen from the outside,

perfectly protecting your privacy.

Though, of course, I still rolled down the blinds while bathing!

While amenities are fully stocked in the shower stall,

they also have another set right next to the tub—

such an incredibly thoughtful touch.

TIP!!

Since I love taking baths,

I reached out to The Apurva Kempinski in advance,

and they confirmed that bath bombs/salts are allowed!

But... I totally forgot to pack mine... sighs.

If you love a good soak,

make sure to pack your favorite bath bombs!

The Apurva Kempinski Bali

Ocean Court rooms have wonderfully spacious terraces.

To help you relax,

there's a large, comfortable daybed out there,

and on the opposite side, plenty of room to dry your swimsuits.

While it’s technically a pool view,

there are so many lush trees right in front

that you don't get a completely wide-open view of the pool.

But actually, because it wasn’t too exposed,

it felt delightfully cozy and private, which I loved!

Looking out to the left from our building,

we could catch a glimpse of the majestic main building.

The night view is also beautiful,

making the terrace the perfect spot for a quiet evening

wind-down (just watch out for mosquitoes!!).

is a luxury 5-star hotel,

the room rates per night can be on the higher side.

Usually around ~$512 to ~$768,

and prices can shoot even higher during peak seasons.

Maybe that's why

there were so many families,

couples, and honeymooners here.

At first, because of the price,

we were actually thinking of staying somewhere else.

But after some serious digging online,

I managed to score a deal at around ~$256 per night

for our stay!

Between booking and actually going,

I kept checking back, and the price

had shot up to almost double!

With a little bit of online research,
