Budget Tokyo Stay: APA Hotel Roppongi Ekihigashi Review
Discover why APA Hotel Roppongi Ekihigashi is Tokyo's best-kept secret for budget travelers. Enjoy upscale vibes, public baths, and Tokyo Tower views for under $100/night!
The Ultimate Budget-Friendly Roppongi Hotel
City View Double Room / 3 Nights for 2 Adults: ~$300

If you're planning a trip to Tokyo in 2026, you know accommodation can eat up your budget quickly.
During my recent trip, I found an absolute gem in the heart of the city:
APA Hotel & Resort Roppongi Ekihigashi
📍 APA Hotel & Resort Roppongi Ekihigashi
3-chōme-18-6 Roppongi, Minato City, Tokyo 106-0032 Japan

The main reason I chose this APA Hotel over countless others was the unbeatable price.
🌟 ~$300 for 3 nights 🌟
That breaks down to just ~$100 per night for two people!
I looked at several other options in the area,
but most were quoting well over ~$150 a night.
With a price difference like that, booking this spot was an absolute no-brainer.

Roppongi Hotels Around ~$80/Night

Check-in starts at 3:00 PM, but if you arrive early, don't worry!
You can head straight to the front desk,
show your passport to confirm your reservation, and securely drop off your luggage.

For a budget hotel, the atmosphere at APA Ekihigashi is surprisingly upscale.
I was genuinely impressed by the sleek lobby design.
It's a huge hit with international travelers—
I heard so many different languages being spoken during my stay!
Seamless Self Check-In

Check-in here is fully automated via self-service kiosks.
Just a heads-up: all guests (not just the person who booked) will need to scan their passports,
so have them ready when you step up to the screen! *.*
Inside the City View Double Room

I originally crossed my fingers for a full Tokyo Tower view, but the City View was still lovely *.*
The room itself is compact—classic Tokyo style!
However, there was still enough floor space to fully open two suitcases,
which makes it perfectly manageable for two adults.

Even though it wasn't officially a "Tokyo Tower View" room,
if you peeked out the window at just the right angle, you could still spot it!
Haha!
When I booked through Agoda,
I added a special request asking for a view of the tower.
The staff kindly apologized at check-in that they couldn't fully accommodate it, but honestly, I was more than happy with this little peekaboo view!

The bathroom features a standard shower-tub combo with a curtain.
What I really loved was the attention to detail.
They stock the bathroom with a ton of complimentary amenities,
including travel brushes, toothpaste, and even hair ties!
✅ Fresh towels provided daily
✅ Disposable cups provided

In the desk drawer, you'll find a hairdryer, plus complimentary coffee and green tea *.*
They keep the disposable cups tucked away in here too,
so just grab one whenever you need a caffeine fix!

Smart design alert: there are multiple hooks and hangers right next to the mirror!
This made organizing our stuff a breeze.
We hung up our outfits for the next day
and kept our daypacks off the floor.
It really helped keep our small room from feeling cluttered.

At night, the glowing Tokyo Tower looks magical from the window.
Because the hotel is located in Roppongi,
every time we walked the short 0.2 miles back from the station,
we were treated to incredible, unobstructed views of the tower.
If you're a sucker for iconic landmarks, you will love this location.

Waking up to clear blue skies and opening the window
was the perfect way to start our mornings.
18th Floor: Public Baths & Lounge

Despite the budget-friendly price tag, APA Roppongi Ekihigashi offers premium amenities:
✅ Large public bath & open-air bath
✅ Swimming pool and relaxation lounge
✅ On-site coin laundry
All available for guests!
👉 Note: Coin laundry requires spare change (Yen)
👉 The public baths are completely free!
Soaking in the hot baths after walking 10 miles around Tokyo was absolute heaven. I went every single night.

Make sure to visit the lounge area!
You get a stunning, dead-center view of Tokyo Tower.
A building slightly blocks the lower half,
so pro tip: take your photos from the right side of the lounge for the best angle! Haha.

In a city where hotel prices can be eye-watering,
scoring a room in Roppongi for around ~$100 a night felt like a massive win.
If you're hunting for a high-value, budget-friendly stay in Tokyo,
I can't recommend APA Hotel Ekihigashi enough.
I would 100% book this place again! *,*
