We recently had the pleasure of staying at Andaz Bali in the charming Sanur area, and let me tell you, the buzz about this place being a slice of heaven is absolutely true! It lived up to every expectation and then some.
While Bali boasts countless famous resorts, Andaz Bali stands out in Sanur for its wonderfully tranquil ambiance and impeccable service. Many reviews highlighted its serene atmosphere, making it a perfect escape. After contemplating a private villa, we ultimately chose Andaz – and honestly, it was the main reason we picked Sanur in the first place!
Just like I did, many travelers planning their Bali trip often find themselves wondering about the diverse room types at Andaz Bali and which one to choose.
So, in this post, I'll break down everything you need to know to make the best decision for your stay.
It's worth noting that some say Hyatt Regency Bali is better suited for family trips. But for us? We were completely smitten with Andaz, and our decision was firm!

Andaz Bali is nestled in the Sanur region of Bali. Unlike the bustling areas of Kuta or Seminyak, Sanur offers a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere. It's a popular choice for family vacations and those seeking a peaceful, rejuvenating getaway.
Even after visiting Ubud and Canggu later in our trip, I still believe Sanur's overall vibe is the most suitable for family travel. The beach walks were particularly delightful.
2) Andaz Bali Room Types
Andaz Bali offers a wide array of room types. The main categories include:
The Signature Room is the standard option, while the Deluxe Room offers a slightly more spacious layout. Many people deliberate between these two, but I found the basic Signature Room to be perfectly spacious and comfortable.
Just a quick note: our trip originally started as a two-person getaway and then quickly became a three-person adventure. So, we opted for a Signature Room and added an extra bed.
You can choose the room type that best fits your travel style and budget!
Another fantastic aspect of Andaz Bali's service is the complimentary coffee, tea, and snacks, available at the lounge as often as you like – yes, they even have iced Americanos!
3) Andaz Bali Standard King Bed Room Review
Our stay in the Signature Room (standard room) with a King bed was delightful. We requested an extra bed at check-in. Since it was peak season, we didn't receive an upgrade, but we were assigned a lovely room on the second floor!
Even as the most basic room at Andaz Bali, the space felt surprisingly generous! (They placed the extra bed opposite the King bed.)
Given that the resort is relatively new, everything felt fresh and clean. The entire room's decor, with its distinct Balinese influence, truly immersed us in that perfect vacation vibe.
What I particularly loved were these three features: The King bed was noticeably larger than those in other hotels, and having a daybed-style sofa next to it meant that each of us essentially had our own sleeping space (main bed, daybed, and extra bed).
The separate toilet and bathroom were also a huge plus! The bathtub was generously sized, perfect for a relaxing soak.
The staff promptly brought us additional bottled water for the bathroom and living area whenever we requested it.
The dressing area/wardrobe was spacious enough to lay out three suitcases comfortably! But what truly stole my heart was the balcony view! I wholeheartedly recommend a second-floor room. Since I planned to mostly 'hotel-hop' (stay within the resort) on this trip, I spent a lot of time on the balcony. Just lying there and taking in the scenery was pure bliss.
While my family went swimming, I happily guarded my spot on the balcony sofa! There's even a mini-table, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine.
4) Andaz Bali Booking Tips
Andaz Bali is a popular resort, so booking in advance is essential!
Here's a tip from a friend who works at Hyatt: book 6-7 months in advance directly on their official website. Hyatt properties consistently offer the best benefits when booking directly.
Also, I'd suggest booking the basic room without breakfast. You might find that trying their breakfast just once is enough!
5) Andaz Bali Stay Summary
Even though there are plenty of pools and facilities, I loved our room so much that I spent most of my time 'hotel-hopping' within the resort!
It's the kind of resort where you don't need to venture out much to have a fantastic time, making it an excellent recommendation for a family trip to Bali!
Andaz Bali offers Signature Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Villas, and Residences. Among these, the Signature Room is the most basic room type.
