Alpe di Siusi Trekking Guide: Dolomites Summer Hiking
Discover the breathtaking meadows of Alpe di Siusi in the Italian Dolomites. Plan your perfect summer hike with our parking, lift, and trail tips.
A Healing Hike with Breathtaking Views
Hi everyone!
Today, I want to share
my absolute favorite trekking spot in the Dolomites:
the stunning Alpe di Siusi.
Let's explore it together!

🌿 Best Time to Visit the Dolomites Tip

The best time to visit the Dolomites is from mid-June to mid-September.
This is when the region truly shines.
During July and August, the high altitudes
turn into a vibrant, lush green,
all the cable cars and lifts are fully running,
making it the absolute perfect time for trekking.
Just keep in mind that peak season means longer lift queues,
so starting your day early is highly recommended!
✨ What is Alpe di Siusi?

Nestled in the Italian Dolomites,
it is the largest high-altitude Alpine meadow in Europe.
Along with Seceda,
it's one of the most popular day-trip trekking spots
starting from Ortisei.

The trails are so well-maintained that they are perfect for
kids, dogs, and mountain bikes alike.
But best of all, the sweeping views of the iconic
Sassolungo stretching out before you... are pure magic.

🎫 Tips for Buying the Summer Pass
📌 Be sure to bring your passport (required to buy the Summer Pass!)

3-Day Consecutive Pass: €135 / per person
Highly recommended if you plan on riding multiple lifts!
We spent 3 out of our 4 days intensively exploring the Dolomites, so we got a ton of use out of this pass.
In Alpe di Siusi alone, we rode the lifts no less than 4 times!
You can choose the option that best fits your itinerary.
Travelers with a longer, more relaxed schedule
often skip the Summer Pass and buy individual tickets instead.

📷 Moments in Alpe di Siusi

It was a landscape that left me completely speechless.
Lying down on the grass for a brief moment,
taking a sweet bite of a flat peach,
the breathtaking panoramic view as I stepped off the lift,
and the gentle, winding paths leading towards the distant Sassolungo.

While trekking can be tiring,
here, it felt like the stunning scenery was doing all the heavy lifting for my stamina.
🍝 Lunch at the Panorama Restaurant!

2 plates of pasta = €30
The food, the vibe, and the view—everything was absolutely perfect!
Snagging a spot on the outdoor terrace makes the experience even more magical :)
