But did you know you can also savor Yongjia Hotpot in Penglai?
During my recent trip to explore the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea (Baxian Guohai) and Sanshan Mountain Scenic Area, I found myself in the Penglai district and decided to give Yongjia Hotpot a try.
This restaurant offers a fantastic **individual revolving hotpot buffet**, allowing you to pick and choose your favorite ingredients as they pass by.
Let's dive into the pricing, typical waiting times, and my full review of Yongjia Hotpot!

⏰ Penglai Yongjia Hotpot Operating Hours
10:00 AM - 9:00 PM
*Please note that operating hours can vary between Yongjia Hotpot branches, so it's always a good idea to confirm before your visit!
Yongjia Hotpot is a renowned **individual hotpot buffet chain** throughout China, with locations even in South Korea.
You'll find branches scattered across the country, making it easy to stumble upon one during your travels. While many Yantai visitors flock to the Wanda Mall location,
I chose the Penglai branch because I was already in the area for the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea and Sanshan Mountain Scenic Area. **There are plenty of other fantastic eateries in downtown Yantai, so visiting Yongjia Hotpot in Penglai was a convenient and delicious option for my itinerary!**
Yongjia Hotpot Penglai: Weekend Waiting Times

I visited on a **Sunday lunchtime**.
I registered for a table around 1:10 PM and **waited approximately 30 minutes before being seated**.

There are waiting chairs provided outside the restaurant, and upon registering, you'll receive a **paper ticket with a QR code**.

You can scan this **QR code with Alipay or WeChat to check your queue number and how many parties are ahead of you**.
This was super convenient! Instead of waiting directly outside, I could explore the shopping mall until my turn was called.
My Yongjia Hotpot Review
Upon entering, you **pay upfront and choose your hotpot broth**, then you'll be shown to your table.

Each seat has its own induction cooker and **individual hotpot**, which I love. It means everyone can enjoy their preferred broth and ingredients without compromise.
With the broth constantly bubbling, splashes are inevitable, so grabbing an apron is a must!

While my broth was heating up, I explored the self-service bar. The sauce station offered a variety of ingredients like peanut sauce, minced garlic, chili, dark soy sauce, and more.
If you're unsure about creating your perfect sauce, **don't hesitate to ask a staff member for their recommendations!**

I opted for a creamy peanut sauce as my base, which pairs wonderfully with spicy mala broth. The only minor downside was that the sauce bar, being self-service, showed some signs of spills from frequent use.

Beyond the sauces, the self-service area also offered a **wide selection of sodas, fruit juices, and even desserts**.

Since it was mango season, mango shakes were available, and I also spotted a soft-serve ice cream machine.

I was too full to try the ice cream, which I regretted later as I heard it's quite delicious at Yongjia Hotpot!

I ordered grape juice and mango yogurt from Heytea. **It's common in China for restaurants to allow outside beverages**, which is a nice perk.
Sipping on sweet grape juice after a fiery mala hotpot was incredibly refreshing.

The main attraction, of course, is the constantly moving conveyor belt.

You use the **tongs at your table to pick ingredients from the revolving belt, then use your personal chopsticks** to eat them.

The belt carries not only meats, seafood, vegetables, and various meatballs but also side dishes like fruits, bread, and even fried chicken!

With such a diverse array of offerings beyond just hotpot ingredients, it's fun just to watch everything go by.
Since it takes a while for the belt to complete a full rotation, I recommend grabbing any ingredients that catch your eye right away and placing them on your plate.

It's much easier to plan your next bite when you've already collected your desired ingredients.
You'll find familiar items like glass noodles, but also **fresh, unique ingredients such as fish paste, offal, and congealed blood**.
**And if you visit Yongjia Hotpot, you absolutely must try the fried chicken!**
I was initially skeptical about fried chicken at a hotpot place, but it was surprisingly delicious. It was warm and crispy, tasting just like freshly made chicken.

With a variety of fruits like watermelon, mango, and melon, you can enjoy a complete meal from appetizers to dessert.
For around **~$9 per person, enjoying hotpot, drinks, sides, and desserts to your heart's content** feels like incredible value.
If you're in Yantai and craving hotpot, or if you're a hotpot enthusiast, I highly recommend checking this place out!
Especially if your itinerary includes exploring the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea, Sanshan Mountain, or Penglai Pavilion, Yongjia Hotpot in Penglai offers a delicious and convenient meal option.
For a fantastic hotpot experience in Yantai, Yongjia Hotpot gets my full recommendation! 💕
