Today, I am sharing a review of a fantastic local spot we stumbled upon in Seminyak, Bali.

We were cruising around on our scooter, looking for a solid local joint on Google Maps, and decided to pull up to Warung Big Boss. Spoiler alert: the Mie Goreng and Nasi Goreng did not disappoint!

It was one of those perfect Bali mornings where my partner and I rented a scooter to explore the breezy streets of Seminyak. 🛵

We were craving authentic Indonesian comfort food—specifically Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng. After a quick search for local warungs, we decided the laid-back, open-air aesthetic of Warung Big Boss was exactly the vibe we wanted for an early lunch.

Right from the entrance, it had that charming, rustic local Balinese warung feel.

As soon as we pulled up to park our scooter, a super friendly staff member came out and actually valeted it across the street for us!

I have never experienced scooter valet service in my life, and honestly, it was the most delightfully extra start to our meal.

The menu here is surprisingly diverse, ranging from Pad Thai and burgers to classic Indonesian staples like Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng.

It definitely attracts a lot of digital nomads and Western expats living in the Seminyak area, giving it a lively, multicultural community feel.

We ordered one Nasi Goreng and one Mie Goreng. While this isn't the absolute cheapest street-side warung in Bali, the prices are incredibly reasonable—especially when compared to back home.

First up was the Seafood Nasi Goreng! 🦐

At 85k IDR (which is around ~$5), it was a great deal. It might not be the single most mind-blowing meal of your life, but it was incredibly clean, fresh, and served in a beautiful open-air setting that captured the true essence of Bali.

Am I the only one who doesn't eat the krupuk (prawn crackers) that come on the side? I always feel like they distract from the rich savory flavors of the fried rice, so I usually leave them untouched. Let me know if you do the same!

Next was the Chicken Satay Mie Goreng!

This one was priced around 75k IDR (approx. ~$4.50).

My partner opted for the noodles, but we both agreed that the Nasi Goreng was the real standout at Warung Big Boss. There was just something about the seasoning of the rice that hit the spot perfectly.

Overall, Warung Big Boss is a fantastic, casual spot to grab a bite in Seminyak.

The food is delicious, but it’s the memories of riding our scooter through the warm morning air, ordering comfort food, and soaking in the slow, relaxed pace of Bali that made this brunch so special. 👍🏻
