Ukishima Brewing
Kokusai Street is brimming with izakayas, but as a craft beer enthusiast, I was on the hunt for something different. That's how I stumbled upon Ukishima Brewing. After an initial stop at Adachiya, this became our perfect second-round destination.
Okinawa Pub, Ukishima Brewing

You'll find Ukishima Brewing on the third floor, accessible via a staircase. Be careful, though! There's another Okinawa pub with a similar name nearby, so it's easy to get confused. In fact, I'd spotted this place on my first day, but then accidentally ended up at the other spot with the same name. It felt off, and after asking around, I realized I was in the wrong place. The interior layout was completely different, but I was already a bit tipsy, so it didn't register immediately! Look for it diagonally across from the Seven-Eleven convenience store.
📍 Ukishima Brewing
3F, 3 Chome−3−1 Makishi, Naha, Okinawa, Japan 〒900-0013
The pub opens its doors at 5 PM,
and closes at 11 PM.
Last orders are taken at 10 PM.
They are closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Atmosphere and Menu

Once you climb the stairs to the third floor, you'll reach the entrance. There's even a band setup, suggesting they might host live performances sometimes. Past this area, you'll step into the main pub space.

While the pub is situated in a bustling area, its third-floor location and somewhat inconspicuous entrance meant it wasn't packed with customers. They even had Jenga available for some casual fun! The long tables gave it a vibe that would be perfect for larger groups.
Perhaps for that reason, aside from one group at a table, most other patrons were gathered at the bar.

The menu, shown above, offers a good selection of craft beers. As is my habit when enjoying craft brews, I started with a Weizen. However, having already had a few drinks before arriving, I ended up sticking to just that one!
Craft Beer, Karaage, & More

My Weizen arrived, along with the Karaage I ordered and another appetizer (whose name I've completely forgotten!). The Karaage was delicious—honestly, it's hard to find bad Karaage in Japan—and the sausages and fries were also quite good.
If I had visited this spot earlier in the evening, I definitely would have explored more of their beer selection beyond just the Weizen. But, as mentioned, I was already feeling pretty good, so another round wasn't really in the cards. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic way to cap off my second day in Okinawa. If you're ever craving a quality craft beer while exploring Okinawa, Ukishima Brewing is definitely worth a visit!
