How Much Should You Pay for Winter Sapporo Flights?

Preparing for your winter Sapporo trip
starts with booking your flight.
I'll explain what flight prices are like,
and what a reasonable price point is.

First, if you're looking for flights to Sapporo in late November,
you can expect to book them for around ~$292 and up.
While snow typically hasn't settled in the city center by late November,
if you venture out to suburban areas like Biei,
you have a high chance of seeing accumulated snow,
making it a great value option for visiting Sapporo.

As an additional tip, you'll find that flights from Saturday to Tuesday are often much cheaper
than those from Thursday to Sunday.
Even though both options include a weekend and require two days off from work,
Saturday-Tuesday flights are generally more affordable.
Booking this way can definitely help you save on expenses, right?
(Plus, with fewer weekend nights, you can save on hotel costs too!)

On the other hand, for flights between December and February, when snow is guaranteed to have settled in Sapporo city,
it's difficult to even find flights starting around ~$365.
Furthermore, winter Sapporo is a peak season,
so flight prices are unlikely to drop from this point.

Therefore, if you're planning to visit after mid-December,
you can book flights in the ~$365 range as soon as you find them,
and up to around ~$438 is still a somewhat acceptable price range.
💡By using a discount code, you can make your
winter Sapporo flight booking a little cheaper.

Recommended Hotels for Your Winter Sapporo Trip?

Once you've booked your flights, next up,
you'll probably be curious about the best locations to find a hotel
and information on value-for-money hotels.
First, let me introduce you to the best locations for booking a hotel.

On the map above, I've highlighted the best locations to book a hotel
with blue shading.
From Sapporo Station to Odori Station and Susukino Station,
all these areas are super convenient for sightseeing.
If you're planning to primarily explore downtown Sapporo,
Susukino or Odori are also excellent choices.

However, personally, if you're traveling to Sapporo in winter,
I always recommend accommodation near Sapporo Station.
In winter, a lot of snow piles up in the city,
making it really inconvenient to drag your luggage around.
It's much more convenient to arrive at Sapporo Station from the airport,
drop off your luggage at your accommodation, and then head out.

What's more, if you're exploring Sapporo in winter, you'll likely be planning side trips to nearby Otaru or
Biei as well.
Since all these tours typically depart from Sapporo Station,
it's much easier to stay in accommodation around this area.

On my recent trip to Sapporo, I stayed at the Washington Hotel Plaza, located near Sapporo Station.
Its location right next to Sapporo Station's North Exit was fantastic,
and the accommodation cost was reasonable, so I didn't hesitate to book it right away.

Upon actually staying at the hotel, I found it convenient to freely grab amenities from the first floor,
and the room itself was generally clean, which I was very satisfied with.

What's more, having a 1.5-person sofa and a small desk next to the bed
was perfect for grabbing some late-night snacks from a convenience store and enjoying them in the evening.

If you're heading to Sapporo in winter and looking for a well-located,
value-for-money hotel,
this hotel might be a great option for you.
You can search for Sapporo hotels, including the Washington Hotel, below, and make sure to utilize the discount coupon
which is only applicable via the link below!
