Trader Joe's Shopping List

Hey fellow travelers! Lisa here.
If you're planning a trip to Los Angeles,
you absolutely need to save this Trader Joe's shopping list.
Trader Joe's is a beloved neighborhood grocery chain across the US,
and it's actually famous for being one of the best spots to pick up unique LA souvenirs.
In today's post, I'll be covering:
✔️ LA Trader Joe's Locations & Store Info |
✔️ The Ultimate Trader Joe's Souvenir Shopping List |
Let's dive right in! 💚
1. LA Trader Joe's Locations & Store Info

There are several Trader Joe's locations
scattered throughout Los Angeles.

For this trip, I visited the branch
located right near the Stüssy store in LA.
As a bonus, this location offers free parking!
⏰ 08:00 AM - 09:00 PM
🚘 Free Parking Available
📍 263 S La Brea Ave
263 S La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036, USA
2. Trader Joe's Shopping List

Trader Joe's items frequently top the list
of highly recommended LA souvenirs.
I'm going to introduce you to the items
I actually purchased and loved! :)
1. Trader Joe's Canvas Tote Bags
$2.99 / $3.99

Honestly, just a few years ago,
these Trader Joe's tote bags weren't this hyped.
You didn't have to wait in line, and they were always fully stocked.
I didn't even bother buying one back then... lol
But recently in 2026, they are incredibly hard to find
and are even being sold at high resale prices online.
At roughly $3, they are super affordable,
and the designs are surprisingly cute and practical.
That's why the Trader Joe's tote bag takes the #1 spot
on my shopping list.
2. Truffle Aioli
$3.99

Out of all my LA grocery souvenirs, this
Truffle Aioli was easily the most satisfying.
For just under $4, it offers incredible value.
The truffle aroma is remarkably strong and savory.
It's absolutely perfect for dipping fries
or spreading on sandwiches at home.
Highly recommend!
3. Olive Oil Spray
$3.99

These oil sprays are a fantastic bargain.
The Extra Virgin Olive Oil Spray in particular
is so cheap, making it a great practical gift for friends.
My only regret is buying just one...
I used it up so quickly!

They have several other types of cooking oils available too,
so definitely grab a few to try out :)
A top-tier practical LA souvenir.
4. Unique Spices & Seasonings
From $1.99
I originally wanted to buy the famous Everything But The Bagel seasoning,
but since poppy seeds are restricted at customs in some countries, I had to pass.
At around $2 each, they are incredibly cheap,
so I stocked up on their other amazing spice blends instead.
They have a huge variety including Umami, Mushroom, Herb, Cheese, and Chili.
They are fantastic for sprinkling
over grilled meats or roasted veggies.
5. Whiskey

When in the US, bourbon whiskey is a must-buy because it's so affordable.
For instance, Maker's Mark, which often costs over ~$46 overseas,
is remarkably cheap here, alongside Woodford Reserve.
I ended up picking up a bottle of Woodford Reserve
to bring back home with me! :)
6. Greek Yogurt
$0.99

Obviously, this isn't something you can pack in your suitcase,
but I highly recommend trying it
while you're staying in LA.
It's only 99 cents, and it is incredibly delicious.
Flavors include strawberry, blueberry, vanilla, plain, mango, and fig.

It's a very thick, authentic Greek-style yogurt with amazing quality.
Having this with some fresh fruit was the perfect morning routine.
Personally, I highly recommend the Honey & Plain Greek yogurt.
7. Wine

Trader Joe's is practically famous for its dirt-cheap wine selection.
The New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs
are unbelievably affordable.
It almost feels cheaper than buying it in New Zealand!
That bottle of Oyster Bay usually costs around ~$23 internationally,
but at Trader Joe's, it's basically half price at around ~$11.
8. Frozen Kimbap
$3.49

If you're looking for a quick, cheap meal
during your US trip, I immediately recommend this frozen Kimbap.
It actually went completely viral
among locals recently!
The quality is surprisingly good,
so I often ate it as a late-night snack.
Considering how expensive eating out in the US can be,
this is an absolute steal for the price.

If your accommodation has a microwave,
definitely give it a try! :)
9. Other Great Finds

Beyond these top picks, my Trader Joe's haul
also included some Blue Moon beer, various protein bars,
and an assortment of unique sauces.

Even among US supermarkets, Trader Joe's
stands out for having high-quality, cost-effective products.
It's a favorite spot for souvenir shopping, so if you're visiting,
make sure to drop by at least once and enjoy the aisles.
3. Wrapping Up Your LA Souvenir Run

If you're traveling to the US,
I highly encourage you to do some grocery shopping
at the local, budget-friendly Trader Joe's.
Getting a tote bag might depend on the store's stock,
but I strongly recommend that Truffle Aioli I bought!
Be sure to slip these items
straight into your own Trader Joe's shopping list.
