Since my family lives in Gangwon-do,
I visit Sokcho at least 4 times a year.
And every time, I naturally find myself staying at
this wonderfully affordable accommodation with an ocean view. Let me introduce it to you!
It's perfect for 2 or 3 people,
overlooking the beautiful Sokcho ocean,
a wonderfully located and clean hotel.

1. The Hotel Sokcho Ocean View

The Hotel Sokcho is located right in front of Sokcho Beach,
so from your window, you can see everything from Dongmyeong Port
all the way to the Bus Terminal Intersection, right before your eyes.
Since it's east-facing, the bright morning sun naturally wakes you up;
Even if the sun isn't direct during sunset hours,
you can enjoy a fluffy pink sky.
(There are blackout curtains too!)
2. Location and Advantages
The absolute best advantage of The Hotel Sokcho is,
without a doubt, its 📍location.
It's within walking distance of the Express Bus Terminal,
making it a truly convenient location to get off the bus and check-in.
If you take the back road, it's just a 3-minute walk to E-Mart,
perfect for grabbing water or a quick breakfast.
(There's even a 24-hour restaurant!!)
It's within walking distance of Sokcho Beach,
home to Sokcho Eye, and Cheongcho Lake, which is always lovely for a stroll,
making it great for morning and evening walks.

3. Room Introduction (Family Twin Ocean View)
During my family trips with 4 or 3 people,
I've always stayed in an ocean view room, though the specific room varied each time.
The larger rooms have sofas, while the 2 or 3-person rooms
have a table and two chairs,
which was great for organizing luggage or getting some work done.
If you get assigned to the very last corner room like this,
the room feels even more spacious! Haha.
Can you spot E-Mart in the corner? 👀
Room Interior
Since it's a residence hotel,
there's a sink and an induction cooktop inside the room...!!
Unfortunately, the induction cooktop cannot be used 🥲.
Instead, there's a dedicated area in the lobby with a
microwave, water dispenser, and ice machine.
Also, there's a GS25 convenience store on the first floor of the building.
(A 24-hour convenience store!)
It's perfect for a quick meal, whether it's instant noodles, triangular kimbap, or snacks.
Otherwise, I recommend bringing a portable pot like this
to cook instant ramen packets!
You can get water and towels during your stay,
and room cleaning is not provided for stays up to two nights.
(Amenities can be delivered if you call)

Peek behind the bed on the left wall, and you'll spot a two-port outlet. With power sockets plentifully available – near the balcony, by the TV table, and even between the beds – you definitely won't be stressing about charging your devices! |
Bathroom & Amenities
The bathroom is equipped with a shower stall,
a sink, and a toilet.
True to a new establishment, it was impeccably clean and spacious,
making it incredibly convenient to use!
They typically provide hair & body wash, conditioner, and liquid soap,
but I had my own travel set, so
I brought those separately.
But don't worry if you forget yours – the provided amenities also do a fantastic job of keeping your hair fresh!
Self-Service Laundry
Down in the basement, you'll find a self-service laundry room.
For those on extended stays or planning some beach fun,
this is your go-to spot to get your clothes fresh and ready for the next adventure!

The Hotel Sokcho, right in front of Sokcho Beach,
is a hotel with a really great price for its facilities.
If you're looking for accommodation for a family trip to Sokcho,
it's easily accessible to both the beach and the lake,
and the facilities are clean, so I highly recommend The Hotel Sokcho.

The Hotel Sokcho is a residence hotel, but induction cooktops cannot be used in the guest rooms. Instead, there is a designated area in the lobby with a microwave, water dispenser, and ice machine.
From The Hotel Sokcho, it takes 3 minutes on foot to E-Mart, 6 minutes on foot to the Express Bus Terminal, and 12 minutes on foot to Sokcho Beach. Cheongcho Lake is a 7-minute walk away.
At The Hotel Sokcho, room cleaning is not provided for stays up to 2 nights. During your stay, water and towels can be received, and if you need any amenities, please call and they will be brought to you.
