Breakfast? Head to the nearby Bean Sprout Soup Spot!
The Hotel Sokcho doesn't offer breakfast, which might seem like a downside. However, I didn't find it to be a major issue at all.

Welcome Drink
They offered a welcome drink, so I enjoyed an iced tea.

It seems to be part of the Best Western family.

Deluxe Family Queen Ocean View
Inside the Room
As a hotel that opened in 2024, the rooms are generally very clean and modern.

The bed condition was excellent, with an Ace 2-tier mattress and an eco-friendly duck down duvet. I slept incredibly well! The Deluxe Family Queen bed was exceptionally spacious, making our family of four very comfortable.

The bathroom was also spacious and clean.

They provide shampoo & body wash, conditioner, and hand wash. The rosemary scent was delightful, and there was a generous supply of toilet paper and towels.

Everything you need is cleverly packed into a small space: slippers, a mini-fridge with one complimentary bottle of water. Note that induction cookers are not permitted for use in rooms.

On the first floor, there's a communal microwave and water dispenser, which came in handy when we needed extra water. The coin-operated laundry in the basement is also great for longer stays.

Ocean view rooms offer stunning vistas of the Sokcho sea, while Cheongcho Lake view rooms provide serene lake scenery. Higher floors generally offer more expansive views. You can choose based on your preference, but if you plan an evening stroll around Cheongcho Lake, the lake view is definitely a great option.
Our ocean view room was on the 18th floor, offering a beautiful distant view of the sea.

I initially thought it might be central air conditioning, but there was an individual AC remote.

Things to Consider
Parking space can be limited. On weekends or during peak season, the internal parking lot might fill up, so it's often easier to use the **outdoor parking lot across the street**. This outdoor lot is spacious, so using it won't cause much inconvenience.
While our room was otherwise excellent, at one point, we noticed some feathers shedding from the duvet. Unfortunately, our family has allergies, and though it wasn't severe, it did cause some sneezing. We mentioned it to the staff when we checked out.
Complimentary disposable amenities (like toothbrushes and toothpaste) are not provided. This is becoming more common these days, so remember to bring your own or purchase them at the convenience store on the first floor.
The rooftop and restaurant are still under development! This was the biggest disappointment for us, as we were looking forward to those amenities.

Who We Recommend This Hotel For
If you're weighing your options for a Sokcho hotel, The Hotel Sokcho's location alone makes it a compelling choice.
If Sokcho is on your list of **must-visit places in Gangwon-do**, this hotel's prime spot feels like half the battle is already won. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Sokcho.
