1. Finding Ssosam208: Your Go-To Suwon Station Samgyeopsal Spot
📍 Ssosam208 Suwon Station Branch
1st Floor, 11 Deokyeongdaero 895beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do
Ssosam208 Suwon Station is a bit off the main Rodeo Street. You'll find it by turning down the alley to the left and walking straight ahead. Its convenient location near Suwon Station makes it a perfect spot for locals to unwind after work, and a fantastic find for travelers seeking authentic Korean BBQ.

"SsoSam" is a playful abbreviation for Ssoju (Korean liquor) and Samgyeopsal (pork belly)! As a returning customer, I confidently walked in, knowing a delicious meal awaited.
2. Inside Ssosam208 Suwon Station: Ambiance and Menu

Ssosam208 was bustling with office workers unwinding after a long day. If you're visiting during peak dinner hours, especially with a group, making a reservation is highly recommended to secure your spot. You can easily reserve through Naver Map, and as a bonus, Naver reservations often come with a complimentary doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) or 3.5 ounces of extra meat! ⭐

Here's a look at the Ssosam208 menu, a must-try samgyeopsal spot near Suwon Station. Notice the "Stone Plate Set" section – that's because they use a special stone griddle instead of a regular pan to cook your meat, which really enhances the flavor!

Ordering is super easy via the tablet at each table. For our group of two, we went with the Small Assorted Stone Plate and, of course, the Lava Fondue Cheese. Seriously, you *have* to order the Lava Fondue Cheese – it's an absolute game-changer!

There were instructions on how to best enjoy the meal, but honestly, the staff already had everything perfectly set up for us – talk about excellent service!

As soon as we sat down, kimchi was immediately placed on the hot stone griddle! To prevent it from burning, they also added some melting fat, ensuring the kimchi grilled perfectly alongside the meat.

The side dishes included fresh green onion salad (pa-muchim) and pickled perilla leaves (myeongi-namul). For dipping, there was salt, doenjang (fermented soybean paste), a chili powder salt blend (?), sesame oil with salt, a special house sauce, and a unique wasabi garlic sauce. The wasabi garlic sauce was an absolute favorite of mine – it added such a delightful kick! ♥️
And here's a fantastic bonus: they serve Kimchi Noodle Soup as a complimentary service, with one free refill! This soup is truly a hidden gem – absolutely delicious and perfect for sipping on while waiting for the meat to cook, or as a delightful companion to your soju. It really hits the spot! ㅎ_ㅎ
3. My Honest Review of Ssosam208: Suwon Station's Must-Try BBQ

First up, the Lava Fondue Cheese we added as an option. It's served in a special crater-like section of the stone griddle, keeping it perfectly warm and melty.

The Assorted Stone Plate set features a delicious trio of Samgyeopsal (pork belly), Moksal (pork neck), and Cheongyeopsal. If you're wondering about Cheongyeopsal, it's a special cut connecting the pig's neck to its shoulder. It gets its name, which literally means "thousand layers meat," from the delicate, thin marbling that gives it a unique texture and flavor.

One of the best reasons Ssosam208 is perfect for group dinners or just a relaxed meal is that the staff grills all the meat for you! No need to worry about cooking – just sit back, relax, and enjoy the company while your perfectly cooked BBQ is prepared right at your table. >_<

Doesn't that look perfectly grilled and golden-brown? The special stone griddle at Ssosam208 truly makes the delicious samgyeopsal from this Suwon restaurant look even more appetizing!

The combination of wasabi garlic sauce with the pickled perilla leaves was incredibly flavorful, but the Lava Fondue... oh my, it was truly outstanding! It offered a slightly spicy kick paired with a rich, savory cheesiness that somehow enhanced the flavor of the samgyeopsal even more. It truly brought the pork belly to life!
While it's called "cheese fondue," as you can see in the right picture, it's not the stringy, stretchy type of cheese you might typically imagine. Instead, think of it as a rich, flavorful cheese-based sauce – perfect for dipping!

And that's how we ended up ordering more moksal! ㅎ_ㅎ
I was tempted by other menu items like the Snow Kimchi Fried Rice or buckwheat noodles, but I was simply too full to try them! ㅠ_ㅠ
I noticed other tables enjoying the original makchang (grilled pork intestines) or crispy pork rind. I'll definitely have to come back with my husband next time I'm craving some "somaek" (soju and beer mix) and delicious Korean BBQ!
That concludes my review of Ssosam208 Suwon Station – a fantastic Suwon restaurant offering delicious samgyeopsal, perfect for any gathering or an unforgettable meal! :>

The 'Small' Assorted Stone Grill is ~$24, and the 'Medium' is ~$33. Lava Fondue Cheese can be added for an additional ~$3.
The Lava Fondue Cheese is served in a volcanic-crater-shaped section of the stone grill. It's slightly spicy with a rich, savory cheese flavor that enhances the taste of the pork belly. It's a cheese-based sauce, not a stringy, stretchy type of cheese.
