If anyone asks me to recommend a family resort
for a trip to Goseong and Sokcho in Gangwon-do,
I would recommend Goseong Del Pino without a single hesitation.
Why? Because at a reasonable price point,
you get a fun water park and breakfast that the kids will love,
it's not too far from downtown Sokcho,
and you can even enjoy the stunning Ulsanbawi Rock view that parents absolutely adore...!
Many of you are probably planning a summer getaway to Gangwon-do right now.
If you're looking for a spot that will satisfy every single family member,
you definitely need to check this out.
I've also prepared a ~$45 discount coupon at the bottom of this post,
along with an exclusive discount coupon just for Chujang Blog readers!
Goseong Del Pino Resort Comparison
📍 Del Pino Resort
1153 Misiryeongyet-gil, Toseong-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do
The resort complex at Goseong Del Pino
is divided into three main areas.
They are Sonofelice, Sonokam, and Sonobel,
with room rates and room conditions descending in that order.

Sonobel: The oldest building since the resort's opening.
It offers the best value for money, and while it shows its age,
it's highly convenient because it's directly connected to many facilities.
Sonokam: Built after Sonobel,
it comes with convenient amenities like induction cooktops.
It offers a direct view of Ulsanbawi Rock and features two-room layouts,
making it fantastic for family trips.
Sonofelice: The newest addition to the resort.
It features mostly multi-room luxury suite layouts
and comes with the highest price tag.
Why I Chose Goseong Del Pino Sonokam

I wish I could go to Sonofelice
While I knew Sonofelice was the best
in terms of views and overall facilities,
I decided on Sonokam for two simple reasons.
(1) The Ulsanbawi Rock View

You can fully enjoy the iconic Ulsanbawi Rock view
right from the Sonokam rooms.
Since all the facilities are connected underground anyway,
just lying in bed and looking out at the lush green peaks of Ulsanbawi
was enough to put me in a state of pure bliss.
(2) Value for Money
We traveled during the peak season.
Since we were a family of five on a 3-day, 2-night trip,
Sonofelice was quoting around ~$448 per night.
Of course, staying there would have been amazing, but...
On the other hand, the Sonokam Family Twin offered a two-bedroom + living room layout
for only in the late ~$240s, which felt like a much more reasonable price point.

Family Twin Room Review
Having a wide variety of room types is another great
advantage of Sokcho Del Pino..!
We stayed in Room 711, Building B.
Sonokam Suite

The room we booked was a two-room suite.
It's a perfect layout for a party of 5,
which is why I highly recommend it for family travelers.
It consists of 2 bedrooms (one room with a queen bed, one room with two single beds joined together)
+ living room + kitchen + 2 bathrooms,
so the five of us had plenty of space to relax comfortably.

With the two single beds pushed together,
the three of us (including our child) had plenty of room to sleep soundly.

The living room featured a cozy sofa, a 4-person dining table, and a TV,
making it a great spot for enjoying late-night snacks together.
(The only downside is that the TV is on the smaller side and doesn't support Netflix....)

The stunning view of Ulsanbawi Rock from our rooms!
Especially in our suite, whether you're in the living room or the bedrooms,
you get a clear view of Ulsanbawi Rock! Plus, the natural light is incredible,
making it the perfect way to start a refreshing morning!

Both of the bathrooms were super clean,
and while they provided basic amenities like shampoo, conditioner, and body wash,
they didn't have toothbrushes or extra toiletries.
So, I highly recommend bringing your own or buying them at the convenience store on the 1st floor.
The water pressure was also incredibly strong, and apparently, they use natural hot spring water here!
No wonder my skin felt so soft and smooth...

Also, if you're traveling with young kids,
the best part about this resort is that the floors aren't carpeted, which makes it so clean and convenient!
There are plenty of other room options available,
so you can browse and pick the perfect one for your trip!

Resort Facilities & Honest Review
One amazing thing is that all the facilities at Del Pino are connected underground,
so you can move between different amenities completely indoors.

Ocean Play (the water park) is close by,
and if you're not planning to visit Ocean Play,
you can still enjoy the hot spring sauna.
While we were having fun at Ocean Play, my parents-in-law
spent a long, relaxing time at the sauna.

In addition, there's a kids' cafe and a wide variety of restaurants,
so you'll have plenty of options to choose from during your stay.
The Famous Cafe Ambrosia

One of the most convenient perks of staying here
was being able to walk directly to Cafe Ambrosia.
Ambrosia is super famous on social media for its stunning Ulsanbawi Rock view,
and it was just a quick 5-minute walk from Sonocam!

The view from our room vs. the view from Cafe Ambrosia
Even though we could see Ulsanbawi Rock from our room,
sitting there with hot coffee and delicious bread made the experience feel
so much more relaxing and peaceful.
The window seats can have a long wait,
so if you're determined to get a window-side spot,
I highly recommend giving yourself plenty of time when you visit!
Other than that, the thing I was most curious about before our stay was
its distance to downtown Sokcho.
(I mean, you can't visit Sokcho without eating your way through the local restaurants, right?)

Sokcho Del Pino is located
about a 15-minute drive from Sokcho Jungang Market.
On our first night, we had some drinks with delicious mulhoe (cold raw fish soup),
and hiring a designated driver (daeri) back to the resort only cost about ~$13, which was totally worth it!
(It was actually cheaper than taking a round-trip taxi!)
Pricing & Booking Tips

We stayed for 2 nights during a peak holiday season,
and it cost us in the high ~$240s per night, which included tickets to Ocean Play.
Generally, Agoda offers some of the best rates,
but depending on the room type, local Korean booking platforms like Yeogi Eottae or others might have better deals,
so definitely compare prices before making your final booking! :)

Hurry and grab the remaining rooms before they're gone...
I honestly wonder if there's any better place for a family trip than this.
It's a place I definitely want to visit again before our second baby arrives.
It's packed with things that both kids and parents will absolutely love,
so I highly recommend it as the perfect stay for a family trip to Goseong! :)

The Sono Calm Family Twin room features a two-bedroom layout consisting of one room with a queen-size bed, another room with two super single beds pushed together, a living room, a kitchen, and two bathrooms. It is spacious enough for a family of five, and the uncarpeted floor makes it convenient and clean for families with young children.
The bathrooms are basically equipped with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. However, toothbrushes and personal toiletries are not provided, so you should bring your own or purchase them at the convenience store on the first floor.
Ambrosia Cafe is about a 5-minute walk from the Sono Calm rooms, making it easily accessible on foot. The seats right by the window are very popular and the wait can be long, so it is recommended to allow plenty of time for your visit.
Goseong Delpino Resort is conveniently located about a 15-minute drive from Sokcho Jungang Market. If you use a designated driver service after having dinner in downtown Sokcho, it will cost ~$13.
