Looking for the perfect weekend getaway in South Korea that welcomes your four-legged family member? We recently took a family trip to the coastal city of Sokcho and found an absolute gem of a pet-friendly pension (a Korean-style vacation rental) that we just have to share!
Quick Details:
While some rooms have designated parking, we were directed to use the spacious temporary parking lot nearby. It was completely free, highly convenient, and had plenty of space. There is also a public parking lot right next door if you need extra room!
You can easily secure your stay via popular Korean booking platforms like Naver. We booked the spacious Romance Suite for about ~$160 per night.
Since this is a fully pet-friendly pension, they do charge an additional small fee depending on your dog's size (small, medium, or large). There is also a refundable security deposit of about ~$19. As long as everything is left in good shape upon check-out, this deposit is promptly wired back to your account.
About 30 minutes before your check-in time, the host will send a detailed text message with the exact address, parking directions, and entry codes. This makes self check-in incredibly smooth!
To find the entrance, head down the alleyway right next to the CU convenience store and the local restaurant "Udong-dang."
Just a short walk in, you will spot the address "15-gil 14" marked on the wall. Simply enter the passcode provided by the host on the digital door lock, and you are in!
Stepping through the gate, you'll find a charming little private courtyard complete with cozy seating—perfect for relaxing with a cup of coffee while your pup sniffs around safely.
The living room features a neat little table with chairs and is fully air-conditioned to keep you cool after a long day at the beach.
There is a flat-screen TV and high-speed Wi-Fi (the password is conveniently located on the router). They even have a small collection of children's storybooks next to the TV—a lovely touch for families traveling with little ones.
The bathroom is surprisingly spacious and even features an in-unit washing machine (ideal for washing sandy beachwear!). It's fully stocked with essentials like shampoo, body wash, face cleanser, toothpaste, and plenty of clean towels inside the mirror cabinet.
The kitchen is exceptionally clean and fully stocked with dinnerware, wine glasses, and cooking utensils. They’ve thought of everything: there’s a pet food bowl set, a baby high chair, and even a capsule coffee machine for your morning brew. The attention to detail here is top-notch!
The suite has two bedrooms. One features two cozy single beds, while the other has a comfortable double bed. To make things even more pet-friendly, they provide dog steps next to the double bed so your furry companion can join you for cuddles without hurting their joints.
Each room is beautifully decorated with cute, minimalist props that give the place a warm, homey vibe.
You'll also find clothing racks, a dedicated vanity mirror, and a hairdryer tucked inside the vanity drawer.

The Romance Suite can be booked through Naver Reservation for ~$160. If you bring a dog, an additional fee applies depending on its size. You also need to pay a separate deposit of ~$19, which is refunded after check-out if there is no damage to the room.
Check-in is available from 3:00 PM. You will receive a text message 30 minutes before check-in with the room address, parking location, and the front gate password. To find your room, enter the alley next to CU and Udongdang, and check the addresses attached to the walls.
Each accommodation has a dedicated parking space, and you can also use a spacious, free temporary parking lot following the instructions. Additionally, there is a public parking lot located next to the accommodation, so you can park according to your situation.
For dogs, a set of dedicated food bowls and dog stairs to easily climb onto the bed are provided. For families with children, a baby chair and children's storybooks next to the TV are separately prepared.
