Are you a bread lover like me?
If so, I highly recommend this spot for your Sokcho bakery tour:
You absolutely must visit Honeyne Bakery.
It's become incredibly famous for its delicious taste,
and these days, the wait is long, and items sell out quickly.
But I'm here to share the latest updated information, including how long the waiting lines are on weekends
and how to make a reservation without waiting.

1. Location, Opening Hours, & Parking
📍 Honeyne
1st Floor, 17-2 Beonyeong-ro 105beon-gil, Sokcho-si, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province

Sokcho Honeyne is located from Sokcho Terminal:
1 minute by car, 7 minutes on foot.
Operating Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday |
Operating Hours: 8 AM - 3 PM |
Closed: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday |
No dedicated parking |
Sokcho Honeyne opens at 8 AM
and closes early at 3 PM, so if you plan to visit,
it's best to go in the morning.
If you go in the afternoon, many breads will likely be sold out.
Also, while there's no dedicated parking lot,
if you visit in the morning, the neighboring store isn't open yet,
so you might be able to temporarily park in their lot.
Keep that in mind when you go!
2. Why It's Famous & What's on the Must-Try Bread List?

Honeyne is famous for its croissants, but
after trying every flavor, I can confidently say they were all incredibly delicious!

They offer a variety of items like croissants, ciabattas, olive sticks, pain de campagne,
croissant sandwiches (tomato, cheese, apple, egg mayo), and more.
But if I could only choose three things to buy here,
I would pick the croissant, olive stick, and croissant sandwich!

As you can tell from various reviews,
the olive stick offers a uniquely crispy pastry with a slightly salty olive flavor that's truly exquisite,

and the croissant is larger than those from other bakeries.
It's crispy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside – I could easily eat three in one sitting!

I also bought a sandwich on the day of my visit for breakfast...
The ingredients inside were fresh and plentiful,
and I thought, 'Wow... if this were near my house,
I'd buy it every day!'

Since these breads are freshly made every morning,
they're crispy on the outside and moist and chewy on the inside.
They're perfect for grabbing one on your way to work in the morning,
so I bought 3-4 of each kind!
3. Waiting Line Tips & How to Reserve

If you don't want to wait in a long line,
you should arrive at least 15 minutes before opening time at 8 AM
to wait a bit and get the bread you want.
However, if you're even a little late,
your desired popular breads might be sold out,
so make sure to go early to grab the breads you want!
(I was able to buy them because I reserved, but
I actually witnessed items selling out right in front of me!)
For those who don't want to do even that,
you can text to inquire about the availability of your desired bread types and quantities,
and if you reserve, you just need to pick them up at opening time.

At first, I saw posts saying you could book via Instagram DMs, and when I tried, I found out they weren't taking reservations that way anymore!
But who am I?!
After digging deep to find out how to book, I discovered that
DM reservations are no longer possible
— you can only book via text message!

Text them with the type and quantity of bread you want. |
Once you receive a confirmation text, pick up your order at opening time. |
If you're reserving a Campagne bread, be sure to include whether you want it sliced or not – it'll save you extra back-and-forth!
Thanks to this method, I was able to grab all of Honeyne's famous breads without anything being sold out!
4. Final Thoughts
I've explored many bakeries on my bread pilgrimage, but
Honeyne in Sokcho was hands down the number one!
I packed up two bags because compared to other places,
the prices were reasonable, the portions generous, and everything was incredibly delicious!
I'd highly recommend it to any friend heading to Sokcho.
Since Honeyne in Sokcho often has long waits,
the safest bet is to reserve in advance or go for an early 'open run' right when they open.
Keep these tips in mind, and I hope you get to enjoy some delicious bread!
Sokcho Honeyne operates from 8 AM to 3 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are their closing days.
To reduce waiting time and buy your desired bread, it's recommended to visit at least 15 minutes before the opening time of 8 AM. Otherwise, popular breads might sell out.
Honeyne does not accept reservations via Instagram DM. You can make a reservation by sending a text message to 010-4906-1144 with the type and quantity of bread you want. Once you receive a confirmation message, you can pick up your order at the opening time.
According to the article, croissants, olive sticks, and croissant sandwiches are highly recommended. The olive stick, in particular, boasts a crispy pastry with an exquisite savory olive flavor, while the croissant is characterized by its large size and a texture that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
