Just recently, my husband and I headed straight to Sokcho Central Market as soon as we arrived in Sokcho, ready to dive into its culinary delights.
As always, the lines at the popular food stalls were long, and we noticed many exciting new eateries popping up. Today, I'm thrilled to share my top Sokcho Central Market food recommendations with you!

1. Sokcho Central Market Location & Parking
📍 Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market
12 Jungang-ro 147beon-gil, Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea
The official name for Sokcho Central Market is
Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market.
It's a large-scale market in Sokcho, combining the **Sokcho Jungang Traditional Market and the Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market**.

Whether it's peak season or off-season, this place is always bustling with people.
Daily 08:00 AM - 12:00 AM
Store operating hours may vary, so if you're planning to visit a specific shop, I highly recommend calling ahead to confirm their hours!

Right across from the entrance to Sokcho Central Market, you'll find a massive public parking lot.
It seems almost everyone visiting Sokcho Central Market uses this public parking lot, as there are always many cars and long lines.
Don't worry, there's **plenty of parking available**, so feel free to use it. Many food vendors at Sokcho Central Market **offer parking discount coupons**, so I recommend asking the owners for one!
+ EV charging is also available!
2. Sokcho Central Market Food List

The first dish I want to introduce from Sokcho Central Market's food list is **Manseok Dakgangjeong**.
You simply can't talk about Sokcho Central Market food without mentioning Dakgangjeong (sweet and sour crispy chicken)! You'll spot Manseok Dakgangjeong stores right from the entrance, and as you walk through the market, you'll easily find many tourists carrying their signature takeout boxes.

The second food I want to introduce is a **Sokcho Squid Sausage Fritter hotspot**.
This Squid Sausage eatery is incredibly popular, with **lines extending beyond its already large, double-unit store**.
I've tried it myself, and it's delightfully savory and delicious, without being greasy or heavy.

My third Sokcho Central Market food recommendation is **Sokcho Strawberry Mochi**!
This mochi shop also had a very long line. While strawberry is their signature, they offer a variety of fruit mochi, including green grape, tangerine, and Shine Muscat grapes.
Many people even come to the Central Market just for Sokcho Strawberry Mochi – it's quite famous!

Next up is **Somunnan Muchimhoe**, a renowned restaurant specializing in packaged raw fish salad at Sokcho Central Market.
The waiting line was long here too. Enjoying fresh raw fish while gazing at the Sokcho Beach view is practically a tradition when visiting Sokcho, isn't it?
It's definitely one of the most popular food items at Sokcho Central Market.

Finally, there's **Osuni Jeonjip** (Pancake House).
This was my first time seeing a pancake shop among the Sokcho Central Market food stalls, and I was surprised by how incredibly long the lines were – not just one, but several rows deep!
The line was so extensive that I couldn't try it myself, but the sheer number of visitors made me incredibly curious about their food.
3. Sokcho Central Market Squid Sausage Recommendation

Personally, for Sokcho Central Market food, **I highly recommend Hwangbuja Twigim's Squid Sausage**.
I already knew about this place, so I made sure to visit it again during my recent Sokcho trip. This time, they even had a new Nurungji (scorched rice) Squid Sausage on the menu!

It wasn't greasy at all, super crispy, and absolutely delicious. Hwangbuja Twigim at Sokcho Central Market is one of those famous eateries that has even been featured on TV.
There's a reason for its continuous popularity – the taste is definitely guaranteed!

My recent Sokcho trip was incredibly satisfying, largely because I got to savor so many amazing local dishes.
Sokcho Central Market is an essential stop on any Sokcho itinerary. I hope you use this food list to enjoy a wonderfully delicious trip!
