That special place was none other than Serengeti Bake Shop.
The name itself felt intriguing, and I can honestly say these were the most memorable treats from my entire Sokcho adventure!

The true stars of the show here are their signature Doranda and Tigre.
I was curious about ‘Doranda,’ and it turns out it’s a delightful twist on a traditional Korean 'oranda' snack, crafted into a charming donut shape. Hence the name – Doranda! How clever and adorable is that?
Their beautiful presentation makes them perfect for gifts. And just look at those charming boxes!

Dubai Tigre (~$4)
I devoured this Dubai Tigre when I needed a sugar boost at Sokcho Beach.
Made with gourmet butter and almond flour, this baked delight is a symphony of flavors with kadaif and pistachio paste! Absolutely delicious!
Doranda 5-piece set (~$2 per piece)
I bought a 5-piece Doranda set. I was so hungry while waiting in line for Namkyung Makguksu that I ate one on the spot, and brought the rest back home to Seoul.
They were so good that I savored one each day. Even four days later, on August 14, 2026, they were still perfectly fresh and not soggy at all!
Every single one was absolutely delicious! They don't skimp on ingredients, and the unique characteristics of each flavor really shine through.
The Gamtae Doranda, in particular, offered an incredible sweet and savory balance that I loved!
Overall Thoughts
While I discovered this spot by chance, it's clearly a well-loved local favorite, and for good reason—the flavors are truly exceptional!
I heard their drinks are quite famous too! We were too full to try them this time, but I'll definitely grab one on my next visit to Central Market. My intention to revisit is 200%!
