Busy Even on Weekends

We arrived at the restaurant around 1:20 PM that day.
I expected it to be less crowded since the peak lunch rush had passed, but there was already a line of people waiting at the entrance.

Seongsanok uses the Catchtable system, so you just register for a spot on the tablet at the entrance.
While waiting, I noticed many families with young children and groups with elderly parents. Family-sized parties seemed to be particularly common.
The age range of diners was quite diverse, suggesting it’s not a restaurant catering to a specific generation but rather a comfortable dining spot for everyone.
Fortunately, the table turnover was quick, and we were seated after about a 10-minute wait.
Surprisingly Clean and Inviting Atmosphere
Upon entering, we were guided to a bar-style table for one or two people.
Ordering was convenient, done via a kiosk installed at each table.
Seongsanok is actually famous for its Pyeongyang Naengmyeon (cold noodles), but at the time, I was trying to avoid noodles due to my diet. Instead, I ordered the Hanwoo Yukhoe Bibimbap (Korean beef tartare mixed rice). My husband opted for the Eobok-tang (beef hot pot).

In the center of Seongsanok’s Sejong branch, there’s a self-service bar, elegantly decorated with wooden accents, giving it a much more refined feel than typical self-service stations. Overall, the cleanliness was impressive!
Dishes and Ambiance: Both Refined at Seongsanok

We helped ourselves to the complimentary side dishes and warm broth from the self-service bar, and everything was delicious without exception.
The basic sides included kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi), stir-fried bean sprouts, and potato salad. While not extravagant, the selection perfectly complemented the overall direction of the meal.

The warm broth we sipped before our meal had a rich meaty aroma and savory depth, naturally whetting our appetites.
After a short wait, all our dishes arrived.

Hanwoo Yukhoe Bibimbap
The Hanwoo Yukhoe Bibimbap was elegantly served in a brass bowl.
Centered around fresh Hanwoo beef tartare, it was generously topped with various greens like sprouts, perilla leaves, and carrots. Just looking at it made our mouths water.

What I particularly loved was that the seasoning wasn't overpowering.
Often, yukhoe bibimbap can have a strong gochujang (chili paste) flavor, but here, the overall seasoning was mild, allowing the natural flavors of the ingredients to shine through.

It was so gentle that I could enjoy it without feeling guilty even while on a diet, and my stomach felt comfortable afterward.

The accompanying dumpling and clear Eobok-tang broth were also wonderfully delicious.

Eobok-tang
Eobok-tang also perfectly matched the restaurant's calm atmosphere.
The broth, served in an earthenware pot, focused on a clean, savory taste rather than strong, stimulating flavors.

It contained generous portions of beef, napa cabbage, mushrooms, and other ingredients, and the broth itself was incredibly clean and refreshing.

If you usually prefer strong, spicy flavors, this might taste a bit bland, but I personally appreciated its mildness.
Every spoonful felt like a comforting, easy-to-eat meal.
Easy Parking Tips
It's worth noting that the restaurant's own parking facilities aren't very spacious.
However, you can use the Sejong Arts Center parking lot, and the restaurant offers 2 hours of parking validation after your meal.
Although I visited by bus that day, observing the scene, it seemed that utilizing the Arts Center parking lot was the most convenient option for those arriving by car.
📍 Seongsanok Sejong Arts Center Branch
1-dong, 6 Naseongdong-ro, Sejong Special Self-Governing City
Seongsanok Sejong Arts Center branch isn't a place remembered for flashy or intense flavors.
Instead, it left an impression as a restaurant where each dish is refined and not overly seasoned, allowing for a truly comfortable dining experience.
After visiting, I understood why it attracts a diverse range of customers, from families with young children to the older generation.
This time, I couldn't try the Pyeongyang Naengmyeon due to my diet, but since it's famous for its noodles, I definitely plan to try them after I move to Sejong.
If you're looking for a tranquil Korean restaurant near the Sejong Arts Center, Seongsanok is certainly worth a visit.
