Searching for budget-friendly Sejong accommodation close to the city? Our Onjeongseong Sejong review shares why this spot is perfect for business trips and extended stays.
If you're on a business trip to Sejong,
or working on a long-term project,
you'll quickly realize that finding accommodation in Sejong
offers fewer options than you might expect.
Hotels in Eojin-dong, home to the Sejong Government Complex, or
Naseong-dong, with its bustling commercial district,
often exceed ~$104 per night,
easily surpassing standard business travel budgets.
To save on costs, many choose to stay in nearby areas like
Yuseong-gu in Daejeon or even Jochiwon,
but then you end up spending a considerable amount of time commuting daily.
As I was preparing my move from Jeju Island to Sejong,
I visited Sejong multiple times.

On my first visit, I stayed in Jochiwon,
and for the second, I opted for accommodation in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.
While the lodging costs were relatively affordable,
the distance from downtown Sejong meant longer travel times,
and I found myself accumulating more fatigue than expected
at the end of each day.
So, for my final visit to Sejong before moving,
I diligently searched for a place that was both reasonably priced
and conveniently located near Sejong's city center.
I was determined to find the perfect spot!

And that's how I discovered
Sejong Onjeongseong, located in Yongpo-ri, Geumnam-myeon.
After staying for two nights,
I was impressed not only by its reasonable price, around ~$41 per night,
but also by its incredibly convenient location—just a 10-minute drive to Sejong's city center.
Getting around was a breeze!
Category | Details |
Location | 13-1 Yongpojungang 2-gil, Geumnam-myeon, Sejong |
Price | ~$47 per night |
Accessibility to City Center | Approx. 10 minutes by car, 25 minutes by bus to Naseong-dong and Eojin-dong |
Room Type | Studio-style private room |
Nearby Facilities | Daepyeong Market, convenience stores, and local eateries like Chungnam Sundae and Palbok Sundae are within walking distance |
Recommended For | Business trips to Sejong, long-term stays, 1-2 person travel |
Points to Consider | May not meet expectations for hotel-level soundproofing and security |

When choosing accommodation in Sejong,
travel time was my most crucial criterion.
Since I frequently needed to commute between Dajeong-dong and Naseong-dong,
staying too far out
would have cost me more in both time and transportation.

Sejong Onjeongseong, on the other hand, is located in Yongpo-ri, Geumnam-myeon,
allowing for a quick 10-minute drive to the city center.
Compared to my previous stays in Jochiwon or Daejeon,
the reduction in daily travel time was the most satisfying aspect.
For business trips, while accommodation costs are important,
the time and energy spent on commuting also count as costs, don't they?
Considering these factors, it truly offered an optimal location.
It's also close to the Sejong Government Complex, Naseong-dong,
and the Sejong Express & Intercity Bus Terminal,
making it incredibly convenient for managing your business itinerary.

While Naver Maps listed it as a "Minbak" (local lodging),
the actual room was a clean and tidy studio apartment.
With its cozy, stylish interior reminiscent of a first apartment
and thoughtfully arranged furniture,
it completely avoided the cramped feel often found in motels.
It was absolutely perfect for my husband and me.

What I loved most was the bedding.
The weather was quite warm during our visit,
but with a cooling pad and a cooling blanket provided,
we slept much more comfortably than I expected.

After a full day out, a refreshing shower was just what we needed.
The water pressure was excellent, really helping to wash away the day's fatigue.
The cleanliness was also top-notch.
There were no bugs or pests during our stay,
and the room was immaculately maintained.
Overall, it left a fantastic impression of quality and comfort!

Since it's a studio apartment-style accommodation,
it comes equipped with amenities like simple cooking utensils and a washing machine,
making it seem perfect even for longer stays.

While there were many things I loved,
there were also a few points that would have made the stay even smoother if I'd known them beforehand.
Always double-check the internal lock on the door.
Sejong Onjeongseong doesn't use a card key system like a hotel;
it has a setup that uses a standard studio apartment-style door lock.
In fact, on the day I was staying, another guest,
perhaps mistaking their room number,
kept trying to open our door lock from the outside.
Both my husband and I were incredibly surprised and flustered,
and my husband even had to shout "Who is it!!!" from inside.
We were genuinely scared out of our wits..ㅠㅠ
After that incident, whenever we returned from going out
or before going to sleep, we made sure to
double-check the internal locking device every single time.
If you're staying in an accommodation with this kind of setup,
I highly recommend always using the double lock.

Soundproofing is not as good as a hotel
Due to the studio apartment building structure,
you can hear the sound of faucets and drainage
when other guests in adjacent rooms are showering or using water.
If you're sensitive to noise,
bringing a pair of earplugs
could make your stay much more comfortable.

Around the accommodation,
Daepyeong Market and a vibrant local commercial area have developed,
making it incredibly convenient for finding meals.

In particular, famous restaurants in Sejong like Chungnam Sundae and Palbok Sundae are close by,
and convenience stores and supermarkets are also within easy reach, making it super convenient in many ways.
For business accommodations, not just the room itself,
but also the surrounding infrastructure is absolutely crucial,
and in that aspect, my satisfaction level was quite high.

📍 Onjeongseong
13-1 Yongpojungang 2-gil, Geumnam-myeon, Sejong Special Self-Governing City
During this relocation preparation period,
I stayed in various areas around Sejong, including Jochiwon, Yuseong-gu in Daejeon, and Geumnam-myeon.
As a result of exploring different accommodations near Sejong,
the place I was most satisfied with was Sejong Onjeongseong.
First, the accommodation cost was the most reasonable,
and above all, the short travel time to Sejong city center
allowed me to manage my daily schedule much more efficiently.
Of course, if you expect hotel-level soundproofing or
security, you might find it a bit lacking, but
if you're looking for accommodation that helps you save on business expenses
while offering excellent accessibility to downtown Sejong,
I believe it's a perfectly satisfying choice.
