Since moving to Sejong City, my husband and I have been on a mission to discover all the local foodie favorites recommended by residents, checking them off our culinary bucket list one by one.
Then one day, my husband came home from work with an exciting tip from a colleague:
There's a pizza spot in Jochiwon that serves up cheese so generous, it rivals even the famous Ijaemo Pizza!
As big pizza lovers, we couldn't just ignore a recommendation like that. That's how we first heard about Jochiwon Cottage Pizza.
Initially, I wondered, do we really need to book days, even weeks, in advance just for a pizza?
But when we heard it's almost impossible to get a pizza at your desired time without a reservation, it only made us more curious.
When we had an errand in Jochiwon, we stopped by the store to make our reservation in person. We ended up visiting again about two weeks later to pick up our pizza.
Based on our experience, I'll share everything you need to know about booking at Cottage Pizza, parking tips, our take on the Cheese Bite pizza's taste and portion size, and even how it stacks up against Busan's Ijaemo Pizza.

To enjoy Cottage Pizza, you absolutely need to reserve in advance. Both when we visited to make our booking and when we returned to pick up our pizza, we saw other customers coming in specifically to reserve their pies.
So, before you plan your visit to Cottage Pizza, checking the reservation methods is crucial.
In-Person Reservation
My husband and I made a trip to Jochiwon on Saturday, July 25, 2026, specifically to make our reservation. By chance, we arrived right at opening time, and there were already about three other groups waiting to book their pizzas!
Early August dates like August 1st and 2nd were already fully booked, and the earliest available slot was August 4th. We ended up securing a pickup for the afternoon of August 8, 2026, which meant a nearly two-week wait!
While walk-in reservations are typically available 1-2 weeks in advance, from our experience, you should aim to go at least two weeks ahead to successfully secure your preferred time.
Phone Reservation
If visiting the store isn't feasible, phone reservations are also an option. You can usually book 2-3 days before your desired pickup date.
However, be aware that the phone lines can be busy, so you might not get through on your first try. It's best to call with a bit of patience.
Parking: Was it Easy?
If you're driving, you don't need to worry too much about parking. There's an empty lot and a public parking garage near the pizza shop.
Just be aware that the alley leading to the pizza place can be a bit tricky to navigate, so drive carefully.
Finally, on August 8, 2026, at 5:00 PM, we returned to Cottage Pizza as scheduled. (And yes, there were still customers coming in to make reservations!)
We picked up our pizza right on time, and the moment I lifted the box, I was genuinely surprised by its weight!
It felt distinctly different from other pizzas we usually get, making me wonder just how many toppings were packed inside before I even opened the box.
Pizza is always best fresh out of the oven, right? We were a little worried since it took us about 30 minutes to drive home, but surprisingly, the pizza retained its warmth quite well. The most impressive part, of course, was the cheese.
They use a blend of local Korean cheeses, including Imshil cheese, which resulted in a delightfully savory and incredibly smooth texture.
And the toppings! There were so many that when I lifted a slice, they just generously spilled over. Many reviews raved about the Cheese Bite crust, so we made sure to order the Cheese Bite pizza.
After trying it ourselves, we found the cheese and sweet potato-filled bites were perfect for casually pulling off and enjoying! I usually leave the crusts, but with Cottage Pizza, I devoured every last bite – they were too good to waste! Haha.
My husband and I can usually polish off a large pizza between the two of us without much trouble.
However, with Cottage Pizza, given the generous amount of cheese, toppings, and the filling Cheese Bites, we were surprisingly full after just a few slices and even had two slices left over.
We reheated the leftover pizza in our air fryer a few days later, and it tasted almost as fresh as new, allowing us to enjoy every last bit.
Since we first heard about Cottage Pizza because it was compared to Ijaemo Pizza, it was natural to draw comparisons!
Both places feature a significant amount of cheese and taste great even when they've cooled down, which was a clear similarity.
However, Ijaemo Pizza's individual toppings, especially the distinct aroma of the vegetables, felt more pronounced. Cottage Pizza, on the other hand, offered a style where the cheese, sweet potato, and other basic toppings blended together more harmoniously.
In terms of price, Cottage Pizza was about ~$1 to ~$2 more expensive than Ijaemo Pizza's similar crust options.

Cottage Pizza isn't a place you can just order from on a whim. We had to wait nearly two weeks after booking to get ours, after all.
But the cheese that remained soft even 30 minutes after pickup, the Cheese Bite crust packed with sweet potato and cheese right to the end, and the generous portion size – enough for two adults with leftovers – definitely left a lasting impression.
Especially if you love a hearty pizza loaded with cheese and toppings, I think this Sejong pizza spot is worth making a reservation for at least once. While the advance booking is a bit of a hassle, the pizza we finally got was so delicious that we're already looking forward to our next order.
In-person reservations can be made 1 to 2 weeks in advance, and it's safest to book 2 weeks ahead to ensure pickup on your desired date. Phone reservations are possible 2 to 3 days before your preferred pickup date, but it might be difficult to get through due to high call volumes.
The Cheese Bite Pizza features savory and soft cheese, a blend of Imsil cheese and domestic cheese, and is packed with cheese bites filled with cheese and sweet potato. The toppings and cheese are so generous that it's difficult for two adults to finish an entire large pizza.
You can use empty lots or public parking near the Cottage Pizza store, so you don't need to worry much about parking. However, please note that the alley leading to the pizza place might be a bit complicated.
Both pizzas share the commonality of a strong cheese presence and tasting delicious even when cold. However, while Lee Jae-mo Pizza has a distinct vegetable aroma, Cottage Pizza is characterized by a style where basic toppings like cheese and sweet potato are well-balanced overall. Additionally, Cottage Pizza tends to be about ~$1 to ~$2 higher in price than similar crust menus.
