Curious what makes Seicomart a unique find in Sapporo? Discover Hokkaido's local convenience store, packed with exclusive treats and fresh eats. A must-visit for authentic flavors!

Sapporo
Premier Hotel Nakajima Park
just 2 minutes away
and 7 minutes from Susukino,
I've brought you some must-try items from Seicomart!

For travelers,
a true hidden gem:
Hokkaido's local convenience store
chain, Seicomart!
Seicomart
was born and raised right here in Hokkaido.
As a convenience store that grew locally,
unlike Seven-Eleven or Lawson,
it boasts distinct
Hokkaido-exclusive items
and a hot food counter
where food is prepared on-site.
That's why travelers often say it's
a must-visit spot when you go to Sapporo.
This particular Seicomart location is
the headquarters store,
which means it has a more diverse selection of products.

Hokkaido Melon Ice Cream
Milk Ice Cream
Corn Ice Cream
Well, I just can't help it!
Hokkaido's
melons are just so good...
So, more melon it is!
This is a signature ice cream
that represents Seicomart,
It's a soft-serve type,
made by blending Hokkaido-grown melon juice
with rich milk.
Its unique characteristic is the simultaneous experience of the melon's distinct sweet aroma
and the creamy richness of soft milk.
It doesn't have an artificial melon scent;
instead, it offers a subtle and luxurious aroma
that's close to actual Yubari melon.
The corn ice cream is also amazing
because it tastes so authentically like corn – it's surprising!
These are highly re-purchased items!
Hot Chef Corner
Freshly Cooked Food Corner

Seicomart's
biggest strength is
its Hot Chef Corner, where food is cooked directly
and sold within the store.
Unlike other convenience stores
that sell factory-made items
that are merely reheated,
Seicomart doesn't follow that approach.
Instead, because dishes are freshly fried
and cooked in the in-store kitchen,
you can enjoy freshly made,
warm food.
What You Can Savor
Wedge Fries
Made with Hokkaido potatoes,
they’re perfectly crispy on the outside
and wonderfully fluffy on the inside—a texture that
truly comes alive with every bite!
Chicken Karaage, freshly fried
right in the store,
is a popular menu item that perfectly embodies
the 'crispy outside, juicy inside' ideal.
If you visit the store in the evening,
you'll have a high chance of discovering
this freshly fried chicken at its best!
Katsudon is also renowned here.
These three items can even be bundled together,
making a perfect instant appetizer
set to enjoy!
Hokkaido Milk
Seicomart is a convenience store
truly passionate about dairy products—
so much so that they even operate their very own dairy brand!
The milk, crafted from 100% raw Hokkaido milk,
boasts a rich, savory taste that lets you feel
the freshness of the farm.
Many praise its distinctly different, denser texture,
and if you opt for regular milk
instead of low-fat,
you'll truly experience its deep, luscious flavor.

Yogurt

All of these are crafted from fresh raw milk,
directly sourced from farms in Toyotomi-cho,
Hokkaido's northernmost region,
and immediately processed at the Secoma Group
dairy factory within the same region.
They boast exceptional freshness
and are characterized by a smooth, mellow taste
with just the right balance, suppressing any overpowering sourness.
Give it a try!
Donremi Pudding & Bread

This is Donremi, the famous Hokkaido milk pudding.
Its distinguishing feature is its wonderfully rich
and savory flavor.
Secoma Corn Potage Snack
This is a classic corn snack,
proudly produced by Seicomart's
own brand.
Black Nikka Highball

Nikka-san, what a pleasant surprise to find you here!
Ah, there’s alcohol from the Nikka-san brand!
This is the Black Nikka Special,
and you'll find it quite commonly stocked
at Seicomart.
Hokkaido.
Produced at the Yoichi Distillery,
characterized by a sweet fruity aroma
and a distinctive malt flavor,
it's a great value 42-proof whisky.
There's also
the Black Nikka Clear Highball can,
made in collaboration with Asahi!
And then,
there's also the Hokkaido Melon Sour,
which is full of sweet melon flavor.
And of course, Sapporo's iconic
Sapporo Classic beer was there too!

Sapporo sake, wine, shochu, and more were also on display.
After leaving Seicomart,
and walking towards Susukino Street,
we stumbled upon
a small stream!

After about a 5-minute walk,
we reached Susukino Street,
where the iconic Nikka sign stands.
Susukino is
not just Sapporo's,
but Hokkaido's
quintessential
bustling downtown area.

Like Tokyo's
Shinjuku Kabukicho
and Fukuoka's Nakasu, it is renowned as a vibrant nightlife district,
but recently,
it's known for more than just its entertainment image.
It's also a widely acclaimed gourmet street, packed with Sapporo's signature foods like ramen, Jingisukan (grilled lamb), and fresh seafood.
so tourists can comfortably
enjoy their evenings here.
Just a heads-up, it might not be the most family-friendly area for accommodations with kids.
Susukino by day

Trams run through here!
The glitz of the night
and trams! What a combination!

When night falls,
the neon signs flicker to life,
transforming it into a dazzling
spectacle!

It was bustling and full of fun!
Susukino,
I'd love to go back again!
Don Quijote,
they even have a Mega Don Quijote!

At Lawson, Family Mart, and Seicomart,
I grabbed some snacks,
then headed back to the hotel to enjoy them.

What a fantastic Sapporo trip!
This marks the end of our third day!
