Sapporo Washington Hotel Plaza
Our top pick for a great value stay near Sapporo Station, including breakfast!
On the last day of our Sapporo trip, we had an early morning flight,
so we booked the Washington Hotel Plaza because it's **conveniently located near Sapporo Station**.
You know, I've actually stayed at the Washington Hotel on a previous Sapporo trip too!
Back then, the room condition, service, and breakfast – all of it –
were super satisfying, especially for a price point around **~$73, including breakfast**.

Room Types

Sapporo Washington Hotel offers a variety of room types,
and I'm going to compare some of the best value-for-money options.
Room Type | Size | Number of Beds |
Semi-Double Room | 15m2 | 1 Double Bed |
Double Room | 17m2 | 1 Double Bed |
Twin Room | 20m2 | 2 Single Beds |
While typical small business hotels in Japan are around 13m2,
the Washington Hotel Plaza's **smallest room is 15m2**, which is a bit more spacious!
The **Semi-Double Room starts from around ~$51**, and
larger rooms typically range from about ~$100 to ~$130.

Depending on the dates, Agoda might be cheaper sometimes, and
Trip.com at others, so make sure to compare both sites before booking!

Lobby

Even late at night, a staff member was present, and
they spoke excellent English, which made check-in a breeze!

You can store your luggage before and after check-in, and
if you need rental car parking, the hotel offers dedicated
tower parking. The price is 1,200 yen per night.

In addition to the standard amenities in the room, you can pick up
razors, combs, tea bags, coffee, and various teas
from the lobby as needed.
Semi-Double Room

The room I booked was a Semi-Double room!
It has a comfortable bed and a large table perfect for laptop work,
along with a basic layout that includes a bathroom.

I also really appreciated being able to store my suitcase in the hallway leading to the bathroom,
which kept the main movement flow unobstructed.

The TV supports both YouTube and Netflix,
and if you set the language to Korean, you can even watch Korean content!

From robes and an air purifier to a deodorizer, drying rack, and dehumidifier –
they really have most things you could need!
It seems they've even provided a drying rack and dehumidifier specifically for drying laundry,
given there's a coin laundry room on the 2nd floor.

The bathroom was quite compact, but its condition was excellent and spotlessly clean.
With a shower curtain, there are no worries about water splashing,
and everything from shampoo, conditioner, and body wash to hand wash and a hairdryer is fully provided.
Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the 2nd-floor restaurant
from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM.
You'll need to present the paper you received at check-in to enter,
and while same-day additional purchases are possible,
remember that registrations are only accepted until 9 AM!

Among all the hotels I stayed at during my Sapporo trip,
this one's breakfast was the most satisfying.
The variety was excellent, and above all,
the inclusion of **Soup Curry** was absolutely fantastic!

With unlimited coffee, tea, and other beverages,
it made for a perfectly clean finish after the meal.

From its location and price to room condition and breakfast,
the Sapporo Washington Hotel Plaza proved to be an all-around satisfying,
great value hotel!
If you have an early morning flight or airport transfer,
it's a hotel near Sapporo Station that I'd especially recommend.
