Pasaru in Sapporo's Susukino is a local sushi gem! Discover fresh seafood and amazing value sets, including two drinks, for an authentic dining experience. Plan your 2026 visit!

If I had to pick the most anticipated meal from my recent Sapporo trip,
it would undoubtedly be at Pasaru (Kaiten Sushi Pasaru),
a true gem among Sapporo Susukino sushi restaurants!
This is a genuine local spot where residents line up after work,
and my travel partner and I joined them,
waiting for a solid 1 hour and 20 minutes before finally getting in.🥲
Just a heads-up: I arrived around 5:40 PM on a Friday,
and by 6:00 PM, the line had easily doubled in length!😱
If you plan to visit, definitely get there early!
We were dropped off in Susukino after a tour, so we headed straight for dinner.

✔️Pasaru Pro Tips!
✅ Waiting Wisdom
Arrive by 5:40 PM on a Friday to expect about a 1 hour 20 minute wait!
✅ Intimate Setting
The interior is quite small, with only about 8 seats!
✅ Unbeatable Value Set
The ~$12 set (tuna roll + sashimi + 2 drinks) is an absolute must-order!
✅ Easy Ordering
They have an English menu, so no need to worry about language barriers!

Absolutely worth the wait! So incredibly delicious!
Stepping inside, we were greeted by an even cozier space than we imagined.
With only about 8 seats, it immediately made sense
why the line moved so slowly.😂
Despite the limited space, it offered a wonderful, intimate atmosphere
where the chefs meticulously prepared each piece of sushi,
giving it that authentic local touch.

Is this deal for real? ~$12 of pure happiness!🩷
As soon as we sat down, my eyes were drawn to the 'Tuna Roll Set' –
which the menu charmingly called the 'Evening Drink Set'. So cute!
A tuna roll + fresh sashimi + two drinks (any size!)
All this for just ~$12...😲
You can choose any two drinks, whether it's beer or sake,
making it the perfect, most affordable way to kick off our meal with a toast.

I double-checked if we could really pick any drinks, and they confirmed we could!
So, we immediately ordered warm sake and a medium-sized beer. Haha!
Seriously, once you get in, order this set first!

Recommended Menu & Prices 🍣
You can't just stop at the set, right?
Having an English menu makes ordering a breeze!

Sea Urchin (Uni) (1pc / ~$3)
: No hint of fishiness, just a creamy, rich sweetness that fills your mouth. Absolutely divine!🧡

Crab Innards Gunkan Maki (2pcs / ~$2)
: The rich, slightly bitter flavor is an exquisite delicacy that perfectly complements endless rounds of beer!🦀

Oyster Sushi (2pcs / ~$2)
: Plump and refreshing, you can taste the pure freshness of Sapporo's waters.🦪 This is a rare treat to find elsewhere, so you absolutely must try it! Thumbs up!!

Botan Ebi (1pc / ~$3)
: These fresh shrimp are carefully peeled and prepared right in front of you, innards and all. So fresh!ㅋㅋㅋ

Scallop (2pcs / ~$3)
: I had really high expectations for the scallops, but they were surprisingly just okay. The adductor muscle was thick, but I think the other dishes were just too outstanding for it to shine. Haha!
Final Thoughts on Pasaru 💖

The wait was long, but enjoying delicious sushi and drinks with my travel partner made all the Friday night fatigue melt away.
I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for truly authentic
Sapporo sushi, even if it means a bit of a wait!
