Booking your JR Tower Observation Deck tickets in advance online is generally more affordable than purchasing them directly on-site.

Tickets are typically valid for one month from your purchase date, but there's no need to buy them too far in advance. You can easily purchase them 30 minutes to an hour before your visit on the same day.
I received my voucher via messaging app in just about 10 minutes and exchanged it for a physical ticket at the counter on-site.
How to Get There

The JR Tower Observation Deck is incredibly convenient, situated right next to Sapporo Station, just about a 5-minute walk. Head towards the Stellar Place East section, and your first stop will be the 6th-floor counter.
If you're facing the station's main clock, entering through the right-hand side entrance will give you the quickest route.

Once you reach the 6th floor, you'll spot a Muji store. Keep Muji on your left and walk straight ahead. When you get to Tully's Coffee, turn left, and you'll see the observation deck entrance.

There are also convenient coin lockers available, even large enough to accommodate a suitcase.

On-site, adult tickets are 740 JPY, roughly ~$5, and Visa cards are accepted. But seriously, booking online is always the smartest move for the best value!

Just present your digital voucher at the counter, and they'll quickly exchange it for your physical entry ticket.

Then, hop on the elevator to the 38th floor – it's a surprisingly swift ride to the top!

Even though the weather wasn't perfectly clear, the view was still absolutely stunning! You can see the entire cityscape of Sapporo laid out before you.

I visited around 2:00 PM, which was a bit early, but many people also choose to come after 7:00 PM to witness the magical night views.

The observation deck isn't limited to just one side; you can actually walk around and enjoy 360-degree views in all directions – north, south, east, and west!
This design is fantastic because even with a crowd, visitors tend to move around, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to capture some great photos without feeling rushed.

While it may not be as tall as iconic structures like Seoul's Lotte Tower or other world-renowned observation decks, Sapporo has very few high-rise buildings. This means the view is incredibly open and unobstructed, which I found truly refreshing.

It's a wonderful place to visit with your partner or family. If you're looking for must-do activities in Sapporo, I would definitely put the JR Tower Observation Deck at the top of my list!

There's also a souvenir shop, T-Shop, and a T-Cafe. The cafe operates during the same hours as the observation deck, and an Americano is a reasonable 450 JPY, which is about ~$3.

Chairs are set up in front of the cafe, allowing you to enjoy a dessert or drink while soaking in the incredible scenery. It's an incredibly healing and relaxing experience just to sit and gaze out.

I used to wonder why observation decks were so popular, but after visiting the JR Tower, I completely understand the hype!
With its affordable admission and incredible views, make sure to take your time, soak in Sapporo's stunning cityscape, and capture some unforgettable memories!
The Sapporo JR Tower Observatory ticket can be purchased most affordably on MyRealTrip for ~$4. After purchasing online, present the voucher received via KakaoTalk at the on-site counter to exchange it for a physical ticket.
From Sapporo Station, head towards Stellar Place East, which is about a 5-minute walk. Enter the entrance on the right side when facing the clock, go up to the 6th floor, walk straight with the Muji store on your left, then turn left in front of Tully's Coffee, and you will see the observatory entrance.
The JR Tower Observatory operates daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Last admission is at 9:30 PM.
Inside the observatory, there are coin lockers large enough for luggage, a souvenir shop called 'T' Shop, and a 'T' Cafe. An Americano at the 'T' Cafe costs 450 JPY, and the cafe operates during the same hours as the observatory.
