Discover Sapporo Hotel by Granbell, a new, value-for-money gem opened in 2025. Enjoy spacious rooms, a public bath, and delicious breakfast near JR Sapporo Station.

When choosing accommodation in Sapporo, I consider
room condition and the presence of a public bath
just as important as the location.
Many hotels in Japan have small rooms, so
I really wanted a newly built place with a decent amount of space.
The accommodation I chose, which perfectly matched my criteria and
offered great value for money, is
Sapporo Hotel by GRANBELL, which opened in 2025.

It boasts a public bath, sauna, and gym,
plus a breakfast spread featuring Kaisen-don (seafood rice bowl) and soup curry,
making it a great place for anyone planning a Sapporo trip to consider.
Location
Sapporo Hotel by GRANBELL is located
about a 7-10 minute walk from JR Sapporo Station.
📍 Sapporo Hotel by GRANBELL
2-chōme-2-2 Kita 6 Jōhigashi, Higashi Ward, Sapporo, Hokkaido 060-0906 Japan
It's not right in front of the station, but honestly,
within 10 minutes is pretty close, right? hehehe
If your itinerary involves using JR trains,
like for trips to Otaru or New Chitose Airport,
I think the location is quite excellent.

There's a FamilyMart directly connected on the first floor,
which is super convenient because you don't have to go outside
to grab beer or snacks at night.
There's also a local supermarket behind the hotel.
Rooms
Sapporo Hotel by GRANBELL is a large hotel
operating a total of 605 guest rooms.

Typical business hotels in Japan
are often around 12-17㎡ (about 129-183 sq ft),
making it difficult to even open one suitcase, but

Sapporo GRANBELL Hotel rooms
are designed to be at least 24㎡ (about 258 sq ft) or larger,
offering a generous amount of space.
Room Type | Size | Bed Configuration | Features | Max Occupancy |
Queen Room | 24㎡ (approx. 258 sq ft) | 1 Queen-size bed | Standard room | 2 people |
Terrace Twin Bunk Bed | 2 Single beds + Bunk bed | Outdoor terrace, suitable for families and larger groups | 4 people | |
Twin Room | 26㎡ (approx. 280 sq ft) | 2 Single beds | More spacious and comfortable than standard twin rooms | 2 people |
Corner Suite | 68㎡ (approx. 732 sq ft) | Bed configuration varies by room type | High-floor (24th) corner location, separated living area, highest tier room | 6 people |
From Twin Rooms to Queen Rooms,
bunk bed rooms perfect for families, and
Suite types that can accommodate multiple guests,
the variety of room types is impressive.
Best of all, since it's a new hotel that opened in 2025,
the interior is incredibly clean and stylish!

High-floor rooms also feature floor-to-ceiling windows,
perfect for enjoying the Sapporo
cityscape.

Imagine enjoying a can of Sapporo beer by the window at night –
the perfect vibe! 💙
Check-in is at 3:00 PM,
and check-out is at 11:00 AM.
Even if you arrive early before check-in,
you can store your luggage for free! hehe
Price
Sapporo GRANBELL Hotel,
like other accommodations,
has prices that vary
depending on the season and room type.

ranging from the mid ~$100s to around ~$270s.
Prices vary quite a bit, don't they?
To make it easy for you to compare,
I personally checked prices on Yeogi Eottae, Trip.com, and Agoda
for the same dates.

Trip.com was around the mid-~$100s

Agoda looked like ~$69 at first glance, but
with taxes included, it was around the low ~$100s.

Yeogi Eottae was the cheapest, at around the low ~$90s
.

And it even comes with a Best Price Guarantee!

Plus, if you apply the overseas accommodation discount **coupon pack** here,
it'll get even cheaper, right?

Honestly, when you travel abroad,
airfare and accommodation are often the most expensive parts,
and for a 2 or 3-night stay,
the difference in accommodation costs can really add up ㅠㅠ
Save as much as you can and enjoy your trip at the best possible price!
Communal Bathhouse (Daeyokjang) and Sauna
The Communal Bathhouse (Daeyokjang) at Sapporo Hotel by GRANBELL
was one of the main reasons I chose this accommodation.

On the 25th floor, there's a natural hot spring communal bathhouse (Daeyokjang)
that's open to all guests.
It's quite fully equipped with a sauna, a cold bath, and even a reclining-style
bathtub.

There's even a steam room-like area, and I thought
a cold draft beer (Namabiru) would be perfect here,
but unfortunately, no alcoholic beverages are allowed.
The afternoon session is from 13:00 to 01:00
and the morning session is from 05:00 to 09:00.
When you travel in Sapporo, there are often days when you're walking all day long,
right?
On days you've been to Biei or Otaru,
you come back exhausted and don't feel like going out anywhere else,
so it's incredibly convenient to just take the elevator and go
straight to the communal bathhouse right from
your accommodation.
It's also great that you can enjoy a hot spring bath right in Sapporo city without having to go all the way to a ryokan in Jozankei or Noboribetsu!

On days you come back utterly exhausted,
you can warm up your body in the hot springs, so
if you're looking for a Sapporo hotel with a communal bathhouse,
it's definitely worth choosing this one for this facility alone.
Since it's a large hotel,
it can get crowded in the evenings, so
I recommend aiming for a slightly earlier or a much later time slot.
Gym
There are people who absolutely need to stick to their
workout routine even when traveling, right?
Sapporo Hotel by GRANBELL also has a
gym.

While the space isn't huge,
it's equipped with 3 treadmills, 2 exercise bikes,
a dumbbell set, a bench, and a cable machine, among others.
There are enough cardio and strength training machines
for a decent workout.

The gym operating hours are from
1 PM to 11 PM
and it's available for use free of charge!
It's located on the 26th floor, but you can simply take the stairs from the 25th floor where the public bath is.
Breakfast
Japanese hotels are famous for their incredible breakfast spreads,
and I always make sure to book accommodations that include breakfast.
Breakfast at Sapporo Hotel by Granbell is served
from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM
at the restaurant on the 1st floor.

It's a fantastic buffet featuring around 70 varieties of Japanese and Western dishes.

You can even create your very own custom Kaisendon (seafood rice bowl)
with your favorite fresh seafood!

And seriously, you *must* try Sapporo's famous Soup Curry
and the delicious omelets made fresh at the live kitchen!
They offer a wide variety of dishes made with
fresh local specialties,
so even if you're not usually a breakfast person
(like me!), I genuinely think this one is worth trying at least once.

If you're not typically a breakfast eater,
it might be a good idea to compare the room-only rate with the breakfast-inclusive rate before deciding!
For the freshest, hottest dishes,
I highly recommend heading down right when they open at 6:30 AM.
Other Facilities

There are also vending machines and laundry facilities within the accommodation,
so guests can easily use them whenever needed!
With new, spacious rooms,
a public bath and sauna,
a breakfast featuring delicious local ingredients,
and unbeatable proximity to Sapporo Station, Sapporo Hotel by Granbell
is truly a perfectly balanced accommodation.
Even during the Chuseok Golden Holiday, it offers incredible value, costing around ~$69.
So if you're planning a visit to Sapporo, it might be worth checking out!
(It gets my enthusiastic stamp of approval! 😉)
