While a luxurious stay throughout your entire trip would be amazing, sometimes you have to compromise, especially on days packed with sightseeing and exploration.

That's why I wanted to share my experience at a Sapporo hotel that I personally found to be an excellent choice.

My usual travel style involves balancing budget-friendly options at the beginning of a trip with a touch of luxury towards the end. This time, for my first two nights in Sapporo, I opted for Gardens Cabin. It's an ideal choice when you plan to be out and about all day, only returning to your accommodation to sleep. In such cases, location and price are paramount.

Gardens Cabin boasts an unbeatable location, nestled perfectly between Sapporo Station and Susukino Station – essentially the heart of Hokkaido's main city.

Adding to its convenience, there's a Seven-Eleven on the first floor – perfect for that essential Japanese travel ritual of stocking up on snacks and drinks before heading back to your room.

Check-in at Gardens Cabin Sapporo is at 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 10:00 AM. It's common in Japan for hotels to have an earlier check-out time compared to the typical 12:00 PM you might find elsewhere.

Amenities and pajamas are freely available for guests to pick up in the lobby. Like many capsule hotels, earplugs are provided, but Gardens Cabin really stands out by mitigating the usual drawbacks of a typical capsule.

Where a standard capsule hotel might divide this space vertically, making it impossible to sit up, this Sapporo accommodation simply separates the sleeping areas, creating a surprisingly spacious feel. It was a game-changer!

Furthermore, another common issue with capsule hotels – the lack of space to open your luggage – is cleverly solved with their Deluxe cabins.

The image on the left shows a standard cabin, while the right displays a Deluxe cabin. That small extra space in the Deluxe made all the difference! You can actually open your suitcase, even if it's just halfway. It's incredibly convenient.

There's also a small desk, which is handy for some quick work. Though, after the first day, it quickly became a spot for amenities and other travel essentials, haha.

If you're considering staying at this Sapporo hotel, I highly recommend booking a Deluxe cabin. When I stayed, it was only about ~$1-2 more per night. While prices can vary, I considered it an absolute steal for the added comfort.

The Private Cabin seems to be the highest class, but it felt a bit like a return to a more traditional capsule hotel setup. Maybe I'll try it if I get the chance in the future.

You'll find restrooms and simple washrooms on the same floor as your cabin, while the main shower facilities and a communal bath are located in the basement.

There's also a laundry room and an ironing area, though I didn't get a chance to use them during my stay.

While a simple breakfast is available, I decided to skip it. After all, Hokkaido is a culinary paradise, and I wanted to explore the local food scene!

On the second floor, you'll find a fantastic co-working space with incredibly fast Wi-Fi (a pleasant surprise for Japan!). It's a great spot to unwind, catch up on emails, or enjoy some convenience store treats.

This area is also perfect for enjoying food. In the evenings, you'll often see guests relaxing with a can of beer.

I certainly made use of it, ending my days with cup ramen, snacks, and a cold beer. It was the perfect way to wind down.

I stayed at this Sapporo accommodation for two nights during my Hokkaido trip (unlike other places where I only stayed one night), which speaks volumes about how much I enjoyed it. That's why it's the first place I'm sharing!
