Ryukyu Hotel Okinawa Review 2026: Family Pool & Breakfast
Looking for the best family resort in Okinawa? Ryukyu Hotel Nashiro Beach offers an unforgettable experience with stunning pools, delicious dining, and activities to keep everyone entertained.

Highly Recommended Okinawa Resort: Ryukyu Hotel
My absolute favorite part of my Okinawa trip—
Ryukyu Hotel & Resort Nashiro Beach!
You could spend the entire day just relaxing inside the resort
without a single moment of boredom.
If you're planning a family vacation with kids,
I highly, highly recommend the Ryukyu Hotel in Okinawa!
Location

The Ryukyu Hotel is nestled
in the southern part of Okinawa.
It takes about 30 minutes
from Naha Airport or Kokusai Dori (International Street) downtown.
A taxi ride will cost around 5,000 JPY (~$32) one way,
but if you take the airport-to-hotel shuttle bus,
it's only 700 JPY (~$5) per person!

As for the shuttle bus,
it departs 4 times a day
from Airport Bus Stop No. 6.

Airport → Resort
10:30 AM, 12:40 PM
3:10 PM, 5:10 PM
Resort → Airport
9:30 AM, 11:20 AM
2:00 PM, 4:00 PM
If you are in a group of 3 to 4 people
or have plenty of luggage, taking the shuttle bus
will be much more comfortable.
Checking In

Standard check-in begins at 3:00 PM.
But did you know? You can drop off your bags starting from 1:00 PM
and head straight to the pool before check-in!
If you land early,
don't waste time wandering downtown—come straight to the hotel
and jump right into the pool! :)
There's so much to do at the pool area,
and the vibe is so incredible that just playing here before checking in
will make you feel like you've already gotten your money's worth!
Oh, and one quick tip: the area surrounding Ryukyu Hotel
is pretty secluded, and you have to go quite a distance
to find a proper supermarket.
I highly recommend stocking up on snacks and drinks
before you arrive!
While there is a convenience shop on the 1st floor,
the selection is limited and prices are a bit higher than outside.
The Rooms
Room types range from the basic
Twin Rooms to Club Rooms, Suite Rooms,
and more.
Panorama Corner Suite - Room 1013

In my case,
I stayed in a Suite Room for one night and a Twin Room
for the next night.
If you stay in a Suite,
you get exclusive access to the Club Lounge
as well as the VIP Center Pool.

In the bathroom, you can enjoy a relaxing soak
while gazing out at the beautiful Okinawa beach.
The layout is designed so that no one can see in from the outside,
so you don't even have to draw the curtains!

The terrace is incredibly spacious and open,
offering a sweeping view of the entire resort and the ocean at a single glance.
The room itself has such a beautiful, romantic atmosphere,
making it a highly recommended choice
for those visiting on their honeymoon.
Twin Room, Room 792

Even the most basic room category
at the Ryukyu Hotel Okinawa is surprisingly spacious.
Since all rooms feature an ocean view,
you can look out at the sea right from your private terrace.
This side of the resort is the perfect sunset vantage point,
so if the weather is clear,
you can enjoy a spectacular sunset right from your room.

In my case, I was assigned a room at the very end of the hallway,
which gave me an even wider, panoramic view
of the gorgeous Okinawa ocean.
However, walking to the lobby, the pools, or to breakfast
took over five minutes each way,
which did get a little tiring at times!

There are tables both on the terrace
and inside the room, making it super convenient
for enjoying local takeout snacks or winding down with a cold beer.

There is also a separate vanity desk/writing table,
which was incredibly handy for organizing my things.
Even though it is the most standard room category, it was so spacious
that I left feeling completely satisfied. Haha.

One tiny downside is that the floor
is carpeted, but
wearing the provided cozy room slippers
made it perfectly fine.
The minibar comes equipped with a capsule coffee machine
and two complimentary bottles of water.
Any extra items you might need
can be purchased at the convenience shop on the 1st floor,
but since it's pricier than supermarkets outside,
be sure to stock up before arriving at the hotel!

The bathroom and restroom are in great condition too.
With a full bathtub available, you can end your day
with a relaxing warm soak.
They even include a bath bomb in the amenities!

Most of the basic, essential amenities are
thoughtfully provided, so
For anyone planning a trip here, I think you only need to pack
your own cleansing foam.
The Swimming Pools

The part I was looking forward to the most—
the pools at Ryukyu Hotel Okinawa! :)
Ryukyu Hotel features a total of
six different swimming pools.
From an indoor pool and main pool to water slides
and a kids' pool, they have a fantastic variety
for everyone to enjoy.

Just note that the Center Pool you see in the middle
is exclusive to guests staying in the suites.
Regular guests can also access it,
but it requires an entry fee of 15,000 JPY (~$92) per person.
Honestly, though, the other pools are already so great
that it's really not worth paying that extra ~$10
just to go inside.

The main pool is incredibly spacious,
and even during the peak summer months of June and July,
it didn't feel crowded at all, so we had a super relaxing swim.

The water slides were also a total blast, haha! lol
There are two different lanes, and the faster one
is so much fun, so make sure to ride it as much as you can! ♥
Private Beach

Ryukyu Hotel's private beach :)
Visiting in June, the water was crystal clear
and the depth was just right, making it perfect
for a sea swim. However, because of all the coral,
water shoes or waterproof footwear like Crocs
are an absolute must!
If you bring swim tubes or other beach gear,
you'll have an even better time! haha
Breakfast Buffet
Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:30 AM

Since the hotel has a lot of guests,
the breakfast restaurant was always busy,
but the variety of dishes was so wide
that there was always plenty to eat.
You can try local Okinawan specialties like sea grapes,
Okinawa soba, and even Spam-based dishes.
Most of the dishes were beautifully prepared and delicious,
so we started every morning feeling completely satisfied.

I tried both the Club Lounge breakfast
and the regular hotel breakfast,
and while the Club Lounge offered a quiet,
peaceful setting, the selection was a bit limited.
Honestly, eating at the regular breakfast buffet
had way more variety and tasted amazing! haha

If your booking doesn't include breakfast,
you can add it for 3,800 yen (~$24) for adults
and 2,500 yen (~$16) for children. :)
The Club Lounge

The Club Lounge is
exclusively for guests staying
in Club Rooms or Suites.
They serve breakfast and brunch
as well as a dinner lounge service.
While breakfast and brunch had plenty of
great dishes to make a proper meal,
the dinner lounge was mostly focused on light bites
and pairings for drinks, so there weren't
many heavy or filling options.
Still, it was a wonderful spot to enjoy
a drink and soak in the lovely atmosphere! :)
