Ryukyu Hotel Okinawa Review 2026: Nashiro Beach Resort
Is Ryukyu Hotel & Resort Nashiro Beach worth it? Read our honest review of this luxury southern Okinawa resort, featuring ocean-view rooms and summer fireworks.

When planning my trip to Okinawa, the thing I spent the longest time agonizing over was definitely the location of my accommodation.
Should I stay in downtown Naha,
head to a resort in the north,
or fully immerse myself in a relaxing escape in the south?

After much deliberation, I chose the Ryukyu Hotel & Resort Nashiro Beach as my final stay.
Before booking, I was a bit worried since the price was quite steep and there were so many reviews from families with kids—I wondered if it would be okay for a trip with just two girlfriends. But having actually been there, it's a place that absolutely everyone would love.
Aside from family vacationers, I saw many daughters traveling with their parents, which made me really want to bring my mom here next time for a special getaway.
Here is my honest review of our girls' trip, along with some great tips on how to book at the lowest price

Ryukyu Hotel & Resort Nashiro Beach

As a massive resort with over 400 rooms, the scale is absolutely incredible, easily rivaling high-end luxury resorts in Southeast Asia.
All Rooms Ocean View
No matter the room tier, every single room looks out onto the beautiful Nashiro Beach ocean and sunset, so you don't have to stress about which room type to choose. We booked a room with two beds.
Even for the most affordable room type, many dates in August are already sold out, with mostly Premier Twin rooms and above left. By the way, Wi-Fi is available in the rooms.

It also comes with a balcony like this, so you can catch the sunrise in the morning and watch the sunset in the evening.

Plus, the highlight of a summer trip to Japan has to be the fireworks, right?
At the Ryukyu Hotel, you can enjoy such a spectacular fireworks display right from your room!

Since popular dates tend to book up surprisingly fast,
it's a good idea to quickly check if there are rooms available for your preferred dates.
In addition to the room I booked, there are Premier Twin and Club rooms. Rates vary by season; during peak times, prices start around ~$384, but they drop to the ~$192 range in autumn.

You might think everything in Japan is small and compact, but Okinawa will completely shatter that stereotype. With six different pool areas—including an infinity pool, water slides, and a kids' pool—the crowds are well-dispersed, letting you enjoy a super relaxing swim. Operating hours vary slightly by season, so please check the photo below.

Spending the whole day hopping from pool to pool and down to the beach, the day just flew by.
You can enjoy it so much that you won't regret a single penny of the room rate, which initially seemed a bit expensive.

I was slightly worried it might be too noisy and chaotic since it's a popular choice for families, but because families with kids mostly hung out around the kids' pool, it didn't feel loud or hectic at all.
And look at this!
It is absolutely, incredibly gorgeous.

While there aren't many restaurants within walking distance, there's a convenience store (mini-mart) and a souvenir shop on the 1st floor. It's super handy for grabbing snacks, and you can buy swimsuits or slippers right away if you need them.

I booked on Agoda 3 months in advance and visited in early July, and it was in the ~$256 range including breakfast.
I thought it was pricey back then, but August and peak season go up to the ~$384 range—yikes!
But then again, we loved every single moment of our stay, so it was worth every penny.

Since it's incredibly popular among Japanese travelers too, rooms sell out fast on weekends and during peak season. It's a great idea to secure a free-cancellation room that includes breakfast.
As you know, the golden rule of booking Japanese hotels is that prices only go up as the date gets closer, rather than getting cheaper.

Ryukyu Hotel Location (Southern Okinawa)
Getting Here: Shuttle Bus Booking & Car Rental Parking Info
Ryukyu Hotel is only about a 20-minute drive from Naha Airport, making it surprisingly accessible even though it's tucked away at the southern tip of the island.
At first glance on Google Maps, the area might seem quiet with limited sightseeing nearby, making you think traveling without a rental car would be tricky. But the hotel shuttle bus makes getting around incredibly easy!

Hotel Shuttle Bus (Airport ↔ Hotel)
Fare: 700 JPY one-way per adult (Cash & credit cards accepted)

Airport Boarding Location

Car Rental & Parking Info
Parking Fee: 1,500 JPY per night
While we rented a car to explore the central and northern parts of Okinawa, we returned it in the city and relied on the shuttle afterwards. Why? Parking in downtown Naha (Kokusai Dori) is an absolute nightmare, making a car more of a hassle than it's worth!
It was so much easier to take the stress-free hotel shuttle back to the airport and hop on the monorail from there to explore. I highly recommend this approach!

Food can often be a challenge when traveling, and breakfast becomes even more crucial when you're traveling with kids or parents. Let me tell you, this place is a breakfast masterpiece! Honestly, you should book this hotel just for the food alone.
The variety is incredible, featuring everything from local Okinawan specialties to traditional Japanese dishes, Western favorites, fresh pastries, and desserts—and absolutely everything is delicious.

You don't even need to search for restaurants outside; they have about nine dining venues on-site, so you'll never run out of options. Seeing elderly guests enjoying their meals so much made me think, "I absolutely have to bring my mom here next time."
Make sure to book the room option with breakfast included. It's a must!
If you skip breakfast here, you're only getting half the experience!
One thing to keep in mind is that there aren't many shops or restaurants within walking distance. If your main goal is non-stop sightseeing, I wouldn't highly recommend this location.
However, if you've already explored the central and northern parts of Okinawa via a tour or rental car, this is the perfect place to unwind. Plus, the hotel shuttle makes it super easy to visit downtown Naha. We actually visited Calbee Plus (famous for their fresh Jagabee potato fries) on our second day while staying here!
And honestly, at around ~$320 a night, you really should stay put and get your money's worth by fully enjoying all the resort's incredible facilities!

Ryukyu Hotel Pricing
