Discover why Rimba by Ayana is the ultimate budget-luxury stay in Bali. From world-class pools to the iconic Rock Bar, here is our honest review.

Our final stay in Bali was
the incredibly popular, crowd-favorite spot
”AYANA Resort.“
There are several different resort properties within AYANA,
and we booked the best value option, ”RIMBA by AYANA“! haha
If you're traveling with friends, RIMBA is super affordable and highly recommended!

Check-in: 3:00 PM
Check-out: 12:00 PM
Breakfast: 6:30 AM ~ 10:30 AM
We stayed in mid-May, which is pretty much peak season,
“Resort View (Garden View) Twin Bed Room”
We booked it with breakfast included for around ~$220 to ~$250.
For a detailed look at the room condition, check out my dedicated accommodation post! :)
+ I highly recommend downloading the AYANA app before you head out!
The AYANA app is incredibly well-made.
You can reserve spots at Rock Bar and other dining options, and even chat in real-time with the concierge.
You can also request amenities like towels or bottled water directly through the app,
which is super convenient!
Seriously, make sure you download it in advance!

Our day started early in Ubud with a relaxing massage,
and then we took a "Grab" taxi straight to Jimbaran.
It took us almost 2 hours to get there from Ubud.

Here is the lobby of RIMBA by AYANA.
First off, the security at the entrance of AYANA Resort is incredibly tight.
They check guest names at the gate and even inspect the taxi's trunk
before letting anyone in.
It actually made me feel super safe and secure! haha
After passing the main entrance, a short drive up the hill
leads you to the RIMBA by AYANA lobby.
As soon as we arrived at the lobby, the staff warmly welcomed us
with beautiful flower leis and refreshing welcome drinks.
If your room is ready, they even let you check in early.
AYANA Resort has a whopping 14 swimming pools and endless amenities,
so it's impossible to see everything in just one day. I definitely recommend
staying a bit longer to explore all the different spots!
But since I’m a "Power J" (a master planner),
I managed to experience so much of what the resort has to offer.
Let me introduce them to you one by one!
1. Ah Yat Abalone Chinese Restaurant
- Highly recommend the lunch dim sum
- You can also enjoy Peking duck at a much friendlier price here.

Since we arrived right around lunchtime, we left our luggage at the lobby
and headed straight to the Chinese restaurant "Ah Yat Abalone."
We walked in without a reservation and had a very relaxed meal.
Since I love dim sum and wanted a light lunch,
we ordered four different kinds of dim sum,
and every single one was delicious! :)
I really wanted to try the Peking duck too,
but after being on a strict diet before the trip...
my stomach had shrunk and couldn't handle that much food... sigh... T_T
Our schedule was packed, though, haha!
So right after eating, we headed straight to the pool.

2. RIMBA Cabana Pool
- Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
This is the RIMBA Cabana Pool, and the floral decorations here are absolutely gorgeous!
When we went, there were plenty of sunbeds available, so we chose a sunbed on the opposite side instead of a cabana.
Since my photos were taken from the sunbeds, I actually recommend
using the sunbeds over the cabanas!
That way, you get to fully enjoy this beautiful floral view haha.

Right next to the Cabana Pool, there's a kids' pool for the little ones,
and it even has a water slide—perfect for children to splash around!
And right beside it, there's a pool bar for the adults.

I was super curious about the Aperol Spritz, famous as "Jennie's pick,"
and since they had it here, I just had to order one!
Now, I'm a total lightweight when it comes to alcohol, haha... but it was so delicious
that I ended up ordering nothing but this when I went to the beach club later!

After a solid swim session and some relaxing downtime on the sunbed,
it was time to move again to catch the sunset at Rock Bar, which I had booked in advance. (My itinerary was so jam-packed, haha!)

3. Rock Bar
- Famous as one of the best sunset spots in the world
- Reservations are a must!
- If you go from 5:00 PM, the sun is still very strong, so sunscreen is essential.
One of the main reasons I chose AYANA Resort
was definitely "Rock Bar."
Bali is all about the sunsets... and since Rock Bar is world-famous for its sunset views, you absolutely have to visit at least once!
Even non-guests can enter, but priority is given to resort guests.
So if you're staying at AYANA, I highly, *highly* recommend booking a spot!
Tip!
- You can book through the AYANA app, so I recommend reserving Rock Bar right when you book your room.
- If you have a 5:00 PM reservation, you might get pushed back if you're late. Make sure to arrive right on time!
- For the best overall view and photo spot, I highly recommend "Tapas Table."
On the way down to Rock Bar...
The view is already so incredibly beautiful, oh my goodness ㅠㅠ

This is the Tapas Table area.
The sunset view is absolutely stunning, and it's the perfect spot to take photos.
Personally, I highly recommend "Tapas Table" as the ultimate photo spot!

If you enter right when it opens at 5:00 PM, the sun is quite strong,
so they seem to hand out umbrellas for shade.
Since we arrived a little later,
we were able to enjoy the view without it being too hot.

The night view is gorgeous too :)

When you head back up after enjoying Rock Bar, there's a gelato shop right there.
You have to try it—it's delicious! :)
Then we hopped back on the tram to head to our next spot, haha.
4. RIMBA by AYANA Fitness Center
- Open 24 hours
- Showers and sauna located inside

When your incline view is a gorgeous pool...
there's no excuse not to squeeze in a workout! 😂
Morning workout successfully completed! 💪
5. To'ge Restaurant (RIMBA Breakfast Buffet)
- A highly popular breakfast spot for guests
- Consistently delicious with plenty of options
Heading straight to breakfast after my morning workout!
To'ge Restaurant is located right next to the fitness center.

Such a peaceful breakfast time ☕
6. Kubu Beach
- An exclusive private beach only accessible to AYANA guests
- The waves are quite strong, so swimming isn't highly recommended
- There are plenty of sunbeds, so it feels very relaxing and spacious

Hop on the tram from the RIMBA Lobby!
Since the AYANA resort grounds are absolutely massive, you'll need to take the tram to get around.

Bintang beer is always a classic, but the Lemon Radler is seriously amazing too!
It has a super refreshing lemon flavor.
I highly recommend giving it a try at least once! 🍋
After chilling at Kubu Beach for just a little bit,
we headed back up to catch the tram.

7. AYANA Ocean Beach Pool
- A fantastic alternative to Rock Bar for watching the sunset!
Since we had to head straight to our next beach club on the itinerary,
we just took a quick peek and headed back up.

8. AYANA Main Lobby
- The main hub featuring the famous photo spot
- Since it's on the way to Rock Bar, you can catch stunning sunset views as you walk through

The night view is absolutely gorgeous, and the sky is filled with so many stars
that you'll find yourself staring up at the sky for hours...
I'll definitely plan a longer stay at AYANA next time
and come back for sure!
Even though we only stayed for one night, we got to experience so many of the resort facilities
and had the absolute best time living it up.
Book "Rimba by AYANA" here!

You can take a Grab taxi, and the travel time is approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival, you will go through a strict security check at the resort entrance, where they verify the guest's name and inspect the taxi's trunk.
Through the AYANA app, you can make advance reservations for Rock Bar and dining facilities. Additionally, you can chat with the concierge in real-time and directly order necessary items like towels or bottled water.
We recommend using the sunbeds located opposite the cabanas rather than inside them. By securing a spot on the opposite sunbed, you can capture the cabana's beautiful flower decorations directly from the front.
For enjoying the overall sunset view and taking great photos, we recommend the Tapas Table seats. It is highly recommended to make a reservation in advance through the AYANA app when booking your room.
Kubu Beach has strong waves, so swimming directly in the ocean is not recommended. Instead, we suggest spending your time relaxing on the ample sunbeds provided.
