I've been meaning to write about this place for a while, but somehow I kept putting it off... and I'm finally getting around to it now.

It's personally one of my favorite spots, and if it aligns with what you're looking for, I think it's a fantastic place to stay.

That is, as long as this isn't your very first time in Bangkok.

If it's your first visit, I still think staying around the Asok area is probably the way to go.

Bangkok’s traffic can be absolutely brutal, so I actually prefer staying slightly outside the main hustle and bustle and commuting in.

But hey, that's a conclusion I reached only after staying all over the city. Instead of just blindly following my advice, it's always best to experience it yourself and find what works for you!

Where to Stay in Bangkok

First of all, the convenience here is unmatched. The first floor has cafes and a convenience store, while the second floor is packed with restaurants. If you're feeling lazy, you can literally get everything done without ever leaving the building.

We're talking Starbucks, 7-Eleven, Cafe Amazon (a classic Southeast Asian local favorite), and even ATMs. I originally booked this as a budget-friendly stay in Bangkok, but it’s so well-equipped that you could easily spend the whole day inside if you wanted to.

And if you step just a little bit outside, you'll find local street vendors selling things like fresh mangoes at super cheap prices.

I stayed in a Superior Room. The room was quite spacious, featuring two cozy twin beds and a vibrant city view.

There's a long counter table stretching right in front of the TV, which turned out to be super handy for tossing all my random travel gear. And here’s a look at the actual city view!

The bathroom comes with a clean shower setup and basic amenities, though there isn't a bathtub.

That's just because it's a Superior Room—if you want a bathtub, you can book one of the Deluxe Room options.

They also have a fantastic rooftop pool. It’s such a great spot to just zone out and relax that I found myself heading up there even when I wasn't planning on swimming.

Plus, when I visited, they gave me a welcome drink coupon that I could redeem upstairs. They also had light snacks and popcorn, making it a great spot to hang out in the afternoon. With perks like this, it’s easily one of the best budget-friendly hotels in Bangkok!

As I mentioned earlier, it is a bit tucked away from the main bustling areas. It might not be the most convenient spot for hitting all the classic tourist sights—except for Chatuchak Weekend Market, which is super close by.

Yet, the reason I highly recommend this location for a Bangkok stay is that it's the perfect base if you genuinely love Thailand and want to immerse yourself in the local vibe. In fact, quite a few places I've raved about in my previous posts are located right around here.

Plus, there are so many more gems in this neighborhood that I haven't even had the chance to write about yet!

That's why I have such fond memories of this area, and I've actually stayed here again since.

My reasons for recommending this spot are exactly as I've described, and it's quite exciting (?) to see that travelers are slowly starting to discover it. Back in 2019 when I first stayed here, it felt completely undiscovered. Now, though still quiet, more and more people seem to be finding their way here. (Maybe that's why the rates have gone up just a tiny bit compared to before... or it could just be the upcoming peak season).
