Pyunghaengsun Cafe Geoje Review: Best Work & Study Spot
Discover Pyunghaengsun Cafe in Gohyeon-dong, Geoje—the ultimate laptop-friendly hideaway featuring quiet study spaces, fresh daily bakes, and rich oat milk lattes.
While searching for a quiet, work-friendly cafe in Gohyeon-dong on Geoje Island, I stumbled upon a hidden gem called Pyunghaengsun. As it turns out, this spot gained massive popularity after being recommended by Woni, a member of the K-pop group RESCENE. With its incredibly spacious second-floor layout and massive study tables, it is hands down one of the best laptop-friendly cafes in the area.

How to Get There & Parking

Pyunghaengsun is located right opposite Hana Bank in Gohyeon-dong, inside the Shinu Sung Apartment commercial complex. Please note that parking is not allowed within the apartment complex itself. You will need to use nearby paid street parking or public parking lots.

Because of the recent buzz online, the cafe can get quite busy during peak hours. If you are traveling by car, I highly recommend visiting Pyunghaengsun's 2nd branch (Suweol branch), which features a dedicated parking lot. It is only about a 5-minute drive (approx. 1.2 miles) from the main branch.
For pastry lovers, the fresh bread comes out daily at 09:00 AM, 10:30 AM, and 11:30 AM.
The Cozy Interior

The first floor is mainly for ordering and has very limited seating. The real magic happens on the second floor, where the space opens up beautifully.

I headed upstairs first to secure a spot before ordering. Since I visited on a weekday afternoon before the peak crowd rushed in, it was blissfully quiet. Several patrons were quietly working on laptops or reading books at the large central table. Seeing people comfortably set up with full laptop stands showed me that this is a space where you can focus for hours without feeling rushed.

The interior design is incredibly tasteful. I loved the Dalla Corte espresso machine box covered in Pyunghaengsun stickers. They also have a self-serve mini oven available, so you can warm up your salt bread, croissants, or financiers to get that perfect, fresh-out-of-the-oven taste.

Aesthetic photos and minimalist decor items are thoughtfully placed along the stairwells and walls, adding a modern, artistic vibe to the entire space.
The Menu & Coffee Selection

Here is the menu. You can choose from three types of coffee beans: Ogamdo (rich and balanced), Your Name (fruity and bright), or Decaf.
An Americano is priced at around ~$3, and a Cafe Latte is around ~$3, which is very reasonable. Unique options like the Cane Viennese and Mandarin Americano also caught my eye.
Their signature drinks are flat-white style beverages, including the Pyunghaengsun Latte, Brown Latte, and Earl Grey Latte.

The bakery counter was lined with mouthwatering treats, including the trendy sweet butter rice cake, garlic butter salt bread, and milk cream salt bread. I was so busy taking photos that I forgot to grab a pastry, and looking back at these pictures, I am seriously regretting it!

Since the bread is baked in batches starting at 09:00 AM, popular items tend to sell out fast. If you want to pair your coffee with their best bakes, I highly recommend visiting in the morning.

Though I usually stick to a standard cafe latte, I wanted something sweet today, so I ordered their signature Brown Latte.

Instead of regular milk, it uses oat milk, which gives it an exceptionally nutty, rich flavor. Combined with a touch of sweet syrup, it is incredibly smooth and easy to drink. It definitely earns its signature status.

"We aim for a beautiful parallel line where individual happiness and unique personalities are respected."
Along with your drink, they provide a small card explaining the meaning behind the name "Pyunghaengsun" (Parallel Line).
In many societies, there is often pressure to blend in—whether in fashion, choices, or lifestyle. People often shy away from standing out. I found the cafe's philosophy—creating a space where individuality and personal happiness can run parallel without conflict—deeply moving and refreshing.

The back of the card outlines a few simple guidelines. It kindly requests guests to keep conversations at a moderate volume to ensure a peaceful environment for everyone. Reading through it, you can tell how much thought and care the owners put into crafting a harmonious space.

The large tables are equipped with plenty of power outlets, making it incredibly convenient for remote work. They also have books scattered around for guests to read. I spent a very productive hour here working on my laptop in complete comfort.

If you are looking for a quiet, inspiring place to read, work, or enjoy top-tier coffee in Gohyeon-dong, Pyunghaengsun is the place to go. While there are livelier cafes nearby for loud group hangouts, this is the perfect sanctuary for solo travelers or duos seeking a peaceful escape.
