Island Suite Review
Let me get straight to the point.
Out of all the places I've stayed during my global travels,
Potato Head Suites & Studios easily makes my top 5.
Whether you're planning a romantic getaway or a honeymoon,
this Seminyak gem is an absolute must-visit.
Here is my detailed review.

1. Looking for a 5-Star Hotel in Seminyak?
Highly Recommended: Potato Head Suites & Studios
📍 Potato Head Suites and Studios at Desa Potato Head Bali

When planning a trip to Bali, one of the biggest perks is experiencing world-class 5-star luxury at a fraction of Western prices.
I do a ridiculous amount of research when booking hotels to ensure I never have any regrets.
✔️ My strict criteria for this trip were:
1. A pristine 5-star property in the heart of Seminyak.
2. A lively pool and beach club, paired with a completely quiet, soundproofed room.
3. Exceptional, warm hospitality.
Potato Head Suites & Studios checked every single box flawlessly.
My husband and I still talk about how incredible this stay was. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Below is a deep dive into the Island Suite we booked, plus an overall review of the resort experience.
2. Inside the Island Suite
Room Condition & Vibe
As the name suggests, the property is split into Suites and Studios.
The Studio Rooms are slightly smaller and more budget-friendly, while the Suite Rooms offer a much more expansive layout.
We opted for the Island Suite. There are actually six different suite types, with the Garden Suite being the entry-level option.

There is a massive walk-in closet space that easily fits all your luggage and outfits, giving it a truly luxurious feel.
Right next to it is a dedicated cocktail bar! They even provide a recipe book so you can mix your own drinks in the room.
I didn't grab a photo, but there is a mini-fridge tucked under the bar (and yes, the soft drinks are complimentary).
During check-in, the staff gave us a room tour and even mixed a welcome cocktail right there at our personal bar.

The living area features an oversized sofa and a beautifully cozy, mid-century modern aesthetic that I absolutely fell in love with.
The desk you see on the left connects directly to the back of the headboard.

The bed is massive and incredibly plush, with a TV positioned to the side. From the bed, you get a straight view out to the private terrace.
I forgot to take a wide-angle shot of the whole room, so I borrowed this one from the official Potato Head website:

The layout looks just like this. Those grand double doors you see open up to the bathroom.
Opening them feels like you're entering a royal chamber, and honestly, the bathroom is big enough to be one.

It is a long, rectangular, and ridiculously spacious bathroom.
The amenities include everything from eco-friendly mosquito repellent to soothing aloe vera gel.
They even provide premium bath salts, so taking a long soak in that tub is practically mandatory.

This is the view you wake up to. Pure bliss.
Of course, there are double-layered blackout curtains if you want to sleep in.
But pulling them back in the morning is instant serotonin. Here's why...

The private terrace is absolutely massive, incredibly aesthetic, and you can hear the beautiful chirping of tropical birds.
The daybed out here is large enough for two people to lounge comfortably.

The most affordable rooms at Potato Head usually start around ~$154 a night.
Let's break down the price comparison for the Island Suite we stayed in (based on a 1-night weekday stay in March, taxes included):
Official Website | ~$434 | |
Agoda | ~$419 | |
Stay & More | ~$374 |
Booking platforms like Stay & More (popular for honeymoon and Southeast Asia bookings) can be around ~$62 cheaper than the official site.
Plus, if you apply their current 5% discount coupon, the price drops even further.
They also have great deals on other highly sought-after properties like the Ayana Resort, often saving you around ~$77 compared to standard booking sites, so it's definitely worth checking out.
3. Breakfast & Resort Amenities

Stays at Potato Head typically include breakfast.
Just head down to the ground floor in the morning. The photo above shows the restaurant area overlooking a lush garden, with the main pool sitting just beyond it.
Right next door is the famous Potato Head Beach Club—arguably the most iconic spot in Seminyak.
Breakfast is a fantastic a la carte system where you order whatever you want from the menu, and they bring it fresh to your table.
I preferred a proper dining table, so I didn't sit right by the garden, but you can absolutely request to have your breakfast right in front of the pool.

Those green cushions in the distance are the poolside daybeds.
Eating breakfast there guarantees some incredibly Instagrammable shots with the pool and ocean as your backdrop!
In the evenings, you can hear the music from the beach club. If you want to avoid the outside crowds, you can just relax on the guest-exclusive daybeds by the hotel pool and soak in the vibes.

There are also tables beside the pool belonging to a bar/restaurant open to non-guests.
The pizza here is out of this world—highly recommend ordering a pie while you lounge!

I cannot overstate how phenomenal the staff is. They are ridiculously friendly, always smiling, and constantly looking for ways to elevate your stay.
Just to give you an idea of their hospitality...

Here are three photos just to brag about their service!
This was my "birthday collection."
I had left a note that we were staying over my birthday, and they went completely above and beyond.
First, they left a personalized chocolate cake in the room. Then, the hotel bar treated us to two complimentary cocktails.
The last photo is a special lettering setup they prepared for us at the beach club.
Being showered with so much attention made me feel like royalty. If you're visiting for your honeymoon and leave a note, I guarantee they will treat you just as beautifully.

By the way, they also have a stunning rooftop bar.
If the beach club scene isn't your vibe but you still want to catch an epic Bali sunset, the rooftop is the place to be.
Their mixologists are truly top-tier.

Potato Head Suites & Studios Bali - Stay & More
If my husband and I ever make it back to Bali, Potato Head is undeniably where we will stay.
We only booked 2 nights this time, but next time, we're staying for at least 4 or 5.
The overall atmosphere, the aesthetic room design, and the flawless service left us completely satisfied.
Choosing a hotel in Bali can be overwhelming compared to other spots in Southeast Asia.
I highly recommend browsing platforms like Stay & More, as they offer some of the lowest rates and have incredibly detailed pages for all the top-tier resorts. :)
