Skulptur i Pilane, Sweden
I was drawn to this magical place by a single, captivating photograph.
It reminded me of discovering the Benagil Cave in Portugal over a decade ago—before it became a global sensation. Back then, there was no address online; I literally had to show up with a printed photo and ask locals for directions.
My appearance on Korean TV showcasing secret travel spots!
This time, I had the exact coordinates. But the journey there was an adventure in itself—navigating narrow, bumpy gravel roads, constantly wondering, 'Are we actually on the right path?' Fortunately, we made it!
As of 2026, this place remains incredibly off the beaten path, virtually untouched by mainstream travel blogs and international tourists.

It is a true hidden gem that feels like your own private discovery.

Perched at the highest point of Pilane, 'ANNA' stands as one of his most moving achievements. With her eyes gently closed against the vast Scandinavian sky, she seems immersed in deep, silent meditation. Standing before her, you can't help but close your eyes too, feeling the cool 65°F summer breeze and connecting with the nature around you.
It’s a rare travel moment of pure, uninterrupted mindfulness.

Another deeply moving installation is 'Forced to a Change' by Swedish contemporary artist Maria Miesenberger. Its unique silhouette immediately catches the eye, but reading the artist's philosophy makes it even more powerful.

The Pilane Sculpture Park is open every year from May to September. After September, some sculptures are removed. The admission fee is 150 SEK for adults and 100 SEK for students.
The giant face sculpture at the top of the park is 'ANNA', a 2016 work by Spanish sculptor Jaume Plensa. It features a figure with gently closed eyes, seemingly enjoying contemplation in the midst of nature.
Visitors slowly hike over the ancient burial mounds while admiring modern art sculptures placed throughout the site. Exploring ancient ruins, appreciating contemporary art, and walking in nature naturally come together in one single space.
The road leading to the park is unpaved, so caution is required when driving. Upon arrival, parking is available in a designated area within the park.
