If you are planning an epic road trip from Germany through Denmark to Sweden, there are two iconic engineering marvels you absolutely cannot miss.

We are talking about the massive Storebælt (Great Belt) Bridge and the legendary Øresund Bridge.

The Storebælt Bridge connects the Danish islands of Funen and Zealand, serving as the vital link between East and West Denmark.

Right after that, crossing the Øresund Bridge connects Copenhagen to Malmö, officially bringing you across the border into Sweden.

For travelers driving overland from Germany to Sweden, crossing both of these bridges is an essential part of the journey.

Neither of these bridges is free to cross. If you are driving a larger vehicle like a campervan, expect higher rates than standard cars.

This hidden gem is located on the shores of Lake Vänern, Sweden's largest lake. It's a public swimming spot (Badplats) where locals gather for swimming and picnics during the summer months.

It offers spacious grassy areas, crystal-clear lake water, a parking lot, and public restrooms, making it an excellent spot with basic amenities.

We spent the night here in our campervan and woke up to a breathtaking morning mist rising over the lake.

It is not a bustling tourist attraction, but it offered us an authentic slice of peaceful Swedish life.
