Out of all the countless resorts in the Maldives,
Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa
is a dream getaway that 200% delivers on
everything honeymooners could ever wish for.
If you want to escape the crowds and focus completely
on just the two of you,
I’m absolutely sure there’s no better choice than this!
Not too long ago, I finally traveled to my ultimate dream destination: the Maldives.
They say researching Maldives resorts is like studying for a college degree,
and during my trip, I managed to visit two incredible resorts.
But honestly, I haven't graduated yet...
Which means I'm still a student—and planning my next return!
While reminiscing about the paradise I'll hopefully see again soon,
today's resort review is all about
the breathtaking Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa.
It’s a place I would have seriously regretted missing out on!
A 45-minute domestic flight from Malé Airport,
followed by a 20-minute speedboat ride.
At first, I also worried that the journey might be too long
and exhausting,
but within less than a day of arriving,
I realized that worrying was a complete waste of time.
There's a popular saying that picking a Maldives resort is like getting a university degree.
When you start looking up different options,
all the names start sounding the same
and it’s hard to tell what sets them apart.
Hadahaa refers to itself as a "living island,"
placing a strong emphasis on an eco-friendly,
nature-first concept.
Instead of building an artificial island, they preserved
as much of the original native vegetation as possible.
They also leave the beaches entirely untouched, letting natural erosion
and accretion shape the coastline over time.
That's the philosophy they operate by.
So depending on the season you visit,
the beach can look and feel completely different!
I found that absolutely fascinating.
Maybe that's why, compared to the other resort I visited,
it felt much more wild and beautifully raw.
The resort has 51 villas in total,
including beach villas, overwater villas, and residences,
with 50 currently operating.
Because of this, no matter where you go on the island, it never feels crowded,
allowing you to wander around in absolute peace and quiet.
Different resorts often attract different crowds,
and since Hadahaa is a Park Hyatt belonging to World of Hyatt’s highest category,
there seemed to be quite a few guests from the US.
To be honest, the thing I was most worried about before booking
was definitely the travel time.
Having to take a 45-minute domestic flight from Malé Airport,
followed by another 20 minutes on a speedboat...
It's located deep in the southern part of the Maldives, right near the equator,
making it known as one of the more remote and travel-intensive resorts to get to.
Before boarding our domestic flight, we waited in the airport lounge,
which was fully stocked with coffee, light bites, drinks, and snacks,
so we could pass the time without getting bored at all!
But honestly, this long distance actually comes with a major perk.
Because there are very few boats or planes passing through,
there are barely any other islands nearby.
It truly felt like our resort was the only thing existing in this whole slice of paradise,
which was incredibly charming.
Thanks to its location near the equator,
it is relatively less affected by the weather, even during the Maldives' rainy season.
Another huge plus!
At our previous resort, it rained cats and dogs, so we couldn't really enjoy ourselves.
That made this perk feel even more precious to me.
In fact, while the northern atolls of the Maldives
frequently get rain,
the southern atolls (where Hadahaa is located)
see the rainy season arrive relatively late.
This means you have a much higher chance of catching clear, sunny days!
One of the reasons it's so hard to choose the perfect Maldives resort
(often called "Maldives Resort University" because of all the intense research!)
is definitely the underwater environment.
Every resort is so completely different, which makes the choice even more dizzying.
Hadahaa isn't an artificial island;
it features a natural house reef that wraps 360 degrees around the entire island.
The moment you step into the water, you're greeted by a stunning variety of corals
and schools of vibrant tropical fish.
Sadly, we didn't spot any manta rays or sea turtles this time,
but that just gives me the perfect excuse to go back!
This resort is especially famous as a premier diving spot,
with reviews mentioning sightings of manta rays, whale sharks,
and even whales!
The resort offers snorkeling programs with marine biologists,
and because the natural house reef is so wonderfully preserved,
the coral is in fantastic condition.
What's great is that unlike other resorts,
you don't need to take a boat out to a distant spot.
That was a huge highlight for us.
Just a few steps from the shore or the beach,
you can already find corals and schools of fish.
As long as you have your snorkeling gear ready,
you can easily jump in and out of the water multiple times a day.
In the morning, we saw baby sharks feeding in the shallow waters—
definitely keep an eye out for them during an early morning stroll!
We stayed in a Beach Villa,
where the entrance by the pool leads right onto the beach.
It has both indoor and outdoor shower areas,
and double vanities so our paths never crossed
while getting ready—super convenient!
Plus, the amenities were Le Labo..!
You bet I slathered on that body lotion haha.
Even late at night, we could step right outside and
Being able to swim right outside was an even bigger perk than I imagined.
Since the island itself isn't too big,
everything from the restaurants, bars, and spa to the dive center
was within a leisurely 10-minute walk.
This made our entire stay feel incredibly convenient and relaxing.
There was a well-stocked minibar in our villa,
but since we weren't on an all-inclusive plan,
we didn't end up using it.
True to its reputation, the dining options at the Park Hyatt
were of an exceptionally high standard.
On our arrival day, we grabbed lunch at The Bar,
and had an amazing BBQ dinner
at The Island Grill.
The next night, we had dinner at Koi,
the Japanese restaurant set right over the water.
Dining above the lagoon while watching the open kitchen
created a truly magical atmosphere.
For extra special occasions, you can also book private beach dining
or in-villa room service,
so definitely keep that in mind if you're planning an anniversary trip!
For breakfast, we could order unlimited à la carte dishes
alongside a fantastic buffet spread,
allowing us to fuel up properly
before starting our adventures each day.
We opted for the Full Board Plus package,
and it was more than enough since it even included
complimentary light cocktails and soft drinks!
Depending on current booking promotions and packages,
special dining options like Koi or the Treehouse
might require an extra charge or come with a discount
depending on your specific plan.
So, I highly recommend checking which restaurants are included
in your plan when making your reservation!
Actually, I found a way to book this resort
at a much more reasonable rate than Agoda or Trip.com.
I'll share that secret at the very end of this post!
Since it was a 3-day, 2-night trip, the itinerary was super short,
but that actually motivated us to make the absolute most of it.
Starting the morning with yoga on the main pool deck.
We also joined a cocktail class at the Dive Bar.
Making them ourselves was so much fun!
I whipped up a delicious mocktail~
Chasing the sunset at the Sunset Bar as day turned to dusk,
enjoying a beach BBQ dinner and a feast at Koi Restaurant,
and stargazing on the beach on a perfectly clear night...
Among those, the view from the Sunset Bar
was truly beyond words,
and the stars in the night sky were a sight you can only find in the Maldives.
Besides all this, the resort offers bicycle rentals,
a 24-hour fitness center, and unique activities
like sunset fishing on a traditional Dhoni boat.
There's a whole array of things to experience,
so it would be great to keep these in mind if you're planning a longer stay!
I ended up getting a 60-minute signature massage,
and it was so incredibly relaxing
that I completely lost track of time. Pure bliss!
The sheets and blankets they draped over me
felt so luxurious and soft—
you could really tell they paid attention to the smallest details of tactile comfort.
They offer various other treatments too, like hot stone therapy,
facials, and body wraps.
It would be a crime to come all the way to the Maldives
and miss out on a spa day!
Plus, the spa area itself is gorgeous,
and the pool right in front of it is just stunning...
I guess Park Hyatt Maldives is the kind of place
where you just find yourself repeating the word "beautiful" all day long. haha :)
As expected from a Park Hyatt, everything was incredibly luxurious,
and the staff were absolutely wonderful.
They even had staff who could speak Korean, which made communication so easy and seamless.
On the day before checkout, I met one of the staff members for the first time, and their very first greeting to me was,
"I am so sorry I'm only getting to greet you now!"
Hearing such a warm and thoughtful greeting flow so naturally
in Korean,
it really showed me just how much detail and care
they put into their hospitality.
It’s hard to deny that having staff who speak your native language
(or having dedicated international staff available)
instantly upgrades the overall quality of your trip...
(Though I definitely envy those who are fully fluent in English! haha 😅)
This is a resort that is particularly famous for its exceptional service,
and you can definitely visit with 100% confidence in their hospitality.
Considered the ultimate destination for a luxury family getaway,
this resort combines a sophisticated, stunning environment
with fantastic family-friendly amenities,
making it one of the most highly sought-after properties in the Maldives right now.
During my stay, I saw several families holidaying together,
and the kids looked absolutely thrilled to be there.
That being said, it is by no means a noisy or chaotic environment.
It's much more accurate to describe it as a resort
highly focused on providing a serene, private atmosphere.
The island itself is massive, yet they only operate a limited number of villas.
Plus, the overwater villas are designed to face a single direction,
meaning privacy between guests
is naturally and effortlessly protected.
Whether you are visiting with family or on a romantic honeymoon,
it provides the perfect setting to completely unwind
and enjoy quality time together
away from the eyes of others.
Whether it’s a quiet, romantic retreat for couples
or a fun family holiday with children,
the ability to relax while maintaining your own private bubble

No, snorkeling gear rental is completely free at the resort!
You can borrow
snorkeling masks and fins at the Dive Center,
and life jackets are already provided in your villa.
Q. Is it okay to visit during the monsoon (wet) season?
Because the resort is located in the southern atolls near the equator,
it is known to be relatively less affected by the wet season
compared to the northern atolls.
However, weather can always be unpredictable depending on the year,
so please keep this in mind as a general reference!
